Mayfield Rugby Dad’s Three Peaks Challenge

This weekend at Rochdale Mayfield ❤️👏

Before kick off, all our teams will be taking part in a 1 minute applause in honour of Layla Balenski.

Layla was a cherished young member of the rugby league community, and today we stand together to remember her with love and respect. Let’s come together to celebrate her life and show support to her family, friends, and everyone at Ince Rose Bridge Sports and Community Club

Firstly we would like to thank each and every single person who has liked and followed our journey this past few days, we hope you have enjoyed the content over the weekend as much as we did making it.

We would like to thank everyone for your kind donations that has made us achieve our goal in helping raise funds for our two girls teams at Rochdale Mayfield Youth Rochdale Mayfield ARLFC .

A special thank you to all our sponsors who kindly donated £200 each to have their company logos on our vests/T-shirts and of course our flag ( provided by GR8 Sports ).

I’m not sure the England flag to display at the top of Scottish and Welsh mountains was the greatest idea 😳😳🤦🤦

We wore our shirts with pride and when stopped we gladly and proudly spoke our girls, their teams and who our sponsors were so thank you.

Next time we probably not spend as much time talking and might finish the challenge quicker 😂 😂.

We would like to thank Yvette and Becky for running the social media side of things when we were doing our best in walking and or resting , thank you for keeping our families updated.

Sorry for the late replies especially if they woke you up but we wanted to stay interacted with you all and we hope we responded to all comments.

A huge congratulations to the boys getting up and down the peaks, attempting every single peak and making sacrifices so we could get job done under 24 hours. Not one bloke in this team refused to lace up their boots or zip up their coat and get out on those mountains.

We had lots of injuries and setbacks on this challenge, hips, back, throwing up, collapsing at the top, knees failures and Parkinson’s related issues but this didn’t stop the lads from having their bodies, minds, tested to their limits .

It is a very tough test both physically and mentally and it’s why every one of the boys should be proud of their achievement .

Not to mention bits that kept falling off the van and a hair raising moment when sheep were asleep in the middle of a tiny road on a blind bend down a tiny pitch black lane at 3 am which near put us in the lake 🤦🤦.

Thank you for the hospitality from the really nice Thai food, comfy beds but importantly the friendliness you greeted us with. We would like to apologise for the farm animal noises that were coming out of the room around 4:30am 🐷 some said they were snoring 😂 😂.

Thank you for all your donations in the lead up to this challenge, the donations while we were walking are hugely appreciated aswell as the good luck messages and will go along way to providing for our girls.

Now to decide what could be our next challenge we are open to suggestions so please comment below what you think.

Finally a big thank you to everyone from our friends, club members but most importantly our families for letting us disappear this weekend to do this for our girls. We hope we have inspired them, made them proud and if us old folk can do it then they can do what ever they want in life.
