Monmouthshire Flying Start - Dechrau'n Deg Sir Fynwy

🔥 A HUGE thank you to our local Fire & Rescue Service ❤️

Today, we were reminded once again just how incredible our emergency services, and our community, are.

A fire broke out in the reen opposite, and not far from, WGGC HQ while we had children on site training. With the sheer number of fires currently burning across Wales and beyond, we honestly cannot express how impressed and grateful we are for the rapid response of the fire service.

Their quick arrival meant the fire was kept remarkably contained and brought under control before it had the opportunity to become something much, much worse. 🚒❤️

And while we waited for the fire service to arrive, some of our WGGC parents, others working on the estate and members of the public didn’t hesitate for a second. Buckets, jugs, bins - anything that could carry water was being filled and brought over to help prevent that small fire from becoming an unforgiving one.

There was no hesitation. No waiting for someone else to act. Just people seeing a problem and doing what they could to help. ❤️

That sense of community is not lost here.

Today, we feel incredibly lucky to be part of a community where people look out for one another, and incredibly grateful to everyone who stepped up - whether you were filling a bucket, keeping children safe, raising the alarm, or fighting the fire itself.

We have just completed a risk assessment and we have made the difficult decision to cancel this evening’s sessions due to adverse weather conditions (as per welcome packs) relating to the current heatwave.

We will continue to monitor the conditions and if there are any changes to tomorrow’s classes we will send communications via email and please keep an eye on our social media!

Emails are being delivered imminently.

As per welcome pack adverse weather policy; refunds will not be issued for cancelled classes.

We’ll be taking a short break to recharge at the end of the summer.

Closed from: Tuesday 25th August
Reopening: Tuesday 1st September

As per the welcome pack, those who pay fees on a monthly basis, please note that your monthly fees amount is based on sessions running for 48 weeks for the year. Your payment does not include our 4 Annual Shutdown weeks.
