🚧 Project Update: Caldicot Leisure Centre & Skate Park 🚧

We're excited to share the latest progress on two major projects in Caldicot!

🏋️ Gym Refurbishment
✅ Final designs approved
✅ Customer feedback has helped shape the new facility
✅ Two stair climbers and a leg press machine included following member requests
✅ New Technogym equipment ordered
✅ On track to reopen in mid-December

🛹 Skate Park Development
✅ Final designs being completed
✅ Site mobilisation begins from 13th October
✅ Construction remains on track
✅ Expected completion February 2027

📢 Why are booking strikes being introduced from 19 October?

In September alone, 1,156 class spaces were booked but not attended.

We understand that some of these may have been members who attended but didn't check in, while others may have been bookings that weren't cancelled when plans changed. However, that's still 1,156 spaces that could potentially have been used by other members.

That's why we're introducing our booking strike process from 19 October.
✅ Please remember to check in when you arrive for your class
✅ If you can no longer attend, cancel your booking at least 2 hours before the class starts

The aim isn't to penalise members. It's to help make classes fairer and more accessible for everyone by ensuring spaces are available for those who want them.

📢 Pam mae system newydd yn cael ei chyflwyno o’r 19 Hydref lle mae’n rhaid i unioglion roi gwybod i ni os ydynt yn methu mynychu dosbarthiadau?

Ym mis Medi yn unig, roedd 1,156 o leoedd mewn dosbarthiadau wedi eu harchebu ond nid oedd neb wedi mynychu.

Rydym yn deall bod rhai o'r rhain efallai wedi bod yn aelodau a fynychodd y dosbarth ond na wnaethant gofrestru eu bod wedi cyrraedd, tra gallai eraill fod yn archebiadau na chafodd eu canslo pan newidiodd cynlluniau. Fodd bynnag, mae hynny'n dal i olygu bod 1,156 o leoedd y gallai aelodau eraill fod wedi'u defnyddio.

Dyna pam rydym yn cyflwyno ein system newydd o’r 19eg Hydref.

Helping More Customers Access Activities ✅

From the 19th October, MonLife will be introducing a new booking strike process across our leisure centres to help ensure classes and activities remain accessible to everyone.

Many of our activities are extremely popular, and when customers book a space but do not attend or cancel, it prevents others from taking part. The new process is designed to reduce unused bookings and make more spaces available for customers who want to attend.

We appreciate the many customers who already manage their bookings effectively and hope this new process will support fair access for everyone.

To help us make the most of available spaces, please:
✅ Cancel your booking at least 2 hours before your activity if you can no longer attend
✅ Arrive on time and register your attendance
✅ Check your bookings regularly through the MonLife App

Customers who do not attend a booked activity without cancelling will receive a booking strike. Customers who receive three strikes within a 12-month period will have their booking privileges temporarily restricted.

🚨 Important Notice – System Downtime (20th September)
🚨 Rhybudd Pwysig – Amser Segur y System (20 Medi)

On Sunday 20th September between 8am and 6pm, essential system upgrades will take place across all Monmouthshire Council facilities.

During this period, our online services will be temporarily unavailable, including bookings and check‑ins.

All leisure centres remain open as normal, and our teams will be using manual check‑in processes. Please allow a little extra time when arriving.

We encourage all customers to plan ahead and book any activities in advance before Friday evening.
Please note:
💠Some class timetables may be adjusted during the disruption.
💠There could be some disruptions or closures to our catering facilities.
💠CoursePro swimming lesson updates will be applied the week after the outage.
💠We hope to have card payments available, but please bring cash as an alternative if needed.
