Another exciting young prospect continuing to make big strides at Moores’ Park. 💚

Zak became a key part of our 2nd XI attack in 2026, regularly taking the new ball and causing batters problems as he swings the ball back into the right hander. He also showed his value with the bat, contributing some crucial middle/lower order runs throughout the season.

His development over the year was rewarded with three 1st XI appearances, including two in the league and one in the Hawkey Cup.

Zak has improved enormously as a cricketer and there is still plenty more to come. Another young player we have high hopes for as we continue working with him towards becoming a regular 1st XI cricketer in the future. 📈

It has been big year of progress for young Ryan Hodge 👏🔥

Ryan impressed with the ball throughout 2026, finishing the season with an excellent 32 wickets in all competitions.

Just as pleasing has been the development of his batting. He brought up his first senior half century for the 2nd XI, scoring a fantastic 66 against Lanhydrock.

Ryan’s an exciting young cricketer who we’ll continue to push and develop, with the aim of getting him ready to make the step into 1st XI league cricket in the near future. 📈

Chris Dent enjoyed a great season at Moores’ Park. 655 runs and 23 wickets on the field, but his contribution went far beyond that.

His experience around the group was invaluable, working 1-2-1 with our batters at training and helping bring the best out of them throughout the season.

A class act on and off the pitch. 👏💚

Young James Brenton has led from the front this summer, at the top of the order for our 2nd XI throughout 2026, finishing as the teams leading run scorer with a fantastic 679 runs.

A superb 111 against Bude was the highlight of a summer that also saw him score five half centuries. His consistency and ability to deliver at the top of the order have been a huge part of the 2nd XI’s season.

It’s been brilliant to watch James continue to develop, and we’re excited to see just how far he can go in the years ahead.

We wish him all the very best as he heads to Melbourne, Australia, this winter to play for St Mary’s Cricket Club. Enjoy the experience, James, and we look forward to seeing you back at Moores’ Park in 2027! 🇦🇺🍻
