Hi everyone

Here is Mark Hones on his second Fit4Golf session today .

He has made a fantastic start, really impressed with his ability to grasp the exercises .

Shown here is Mark using a Macebell which is an offset untraditional training tool.

This is fantastic for resisting his swing , thus improving shoulder strength & rotation, speed of club, power, mobility & will also develop the correct stabilisation muscles due to the specific movement for golf .

Fantastic 3rd Session this morning with these Legends.

As you can see , everything is specific for Golf .

Rotational exercises, resistance on rotation, pushing through the feet .

Torque ( rotation to max ) which increases stability & strength.

Two of the group were on holiday, but we got stuck in to some Macebell work , & the guys could really see how it would work to increase the swing in terms of the pattern, power , kinetic chain & rotation all of which is the mechanics involved.

I discovered the SteelMace in 2020 during the first lockdown.

That period , like many of us enabled me to step back slightly & study different & new training methods & apparatus.

Little did I realise that this particular Training Tool would have such an impact not only on myself from a physical standpoint but mentally as well.

The Mace has taken me on a pathway like no other training tool has , it has enabled me at the age of 61 to become more flexible, dynamic, powerful, stronger, move freely & also makes my mind ( nervous system) work in such a way that every session is a challenge in terms of brain function.

Russell Grace picked it up 2 years ago & with the many rotational exercises planted the seed in my head about how exceptional it had made his Golf Game & that all of the tools I used with him should be introduced to Golfers .

I am serious about Fit4Golf & don’t just see it from an entrepreneurial mindset, I’m keen to get the best out of every single person I train , & I’m more than equipped to work alongside Golfers of every level up to Professional.

So guys …. Come down & have a go .

I’m open to some workshops with some of you & your friends.

Our latest clip shows how we integrate the Bulgarian Bag into building Strength, Power , Flexibility, Core Strength & Stability for the Golf Swing .

Specific or Non Specific?


Here is a slowed down version of Russell using a Steel Mace to improve his swing .

Simply by using the off set Mace which is heavier at one end the whole swing becomes resisted.

On the upswing Russell really had to work hard on the motion & the Globe ( Mace head) pulled him backwards forcing Torque ( a fight back against force) .

This improves the whole swing mechanics, his balance , wrist & forearm strength, core strength, club head speed & follow through.

Remember this works the whole kinetic chain of muscles used in hitting the ball as opposed to lifting heavy weights above the head !

We firmly believe this technique & use of the transverse plane ( rotation) will help even the most advanced Golfer .

Why train muscles in isolation when you can recreate using the key chain against resistance.

Many of the tools are off set ( heavier at one end ) this creates a better force in terms of the core development.
