✨One year of Alma ✨

A year ago, I opened the doors to Alma.

I wanted to create the kind of space I felt was missing.

A cosy, welcoming sanctuary where women could step away from the busyness of life, put down the endless to-do list and simply breathe.

A place where you could arrive exactly as you are, feel supported, and take some time for yourself.

If I’m honest, this year has been both wonderful and scary.

There have been moments of doubt, plenty of lessons, and many times when I’ve realised I definitely don’t have it all figured out!

But I’ve met some incredible people, built a beautiful community, and watched friendships blossom.
Perhaps my biggest lesson has been learning to embrace a slower pace.

I have a huge imagination and more ideas for Alma than I could ever fit into one year, but I’ve come to realise that building something meaningful takes time. As a one-woman business owner, wife and mum, I’ve learned to focus on taking one step at a time, trusting that small, consistent actions eventually lead somewhere beautiful.

To everyone who has supported Alma along the way — my clients, yoga teachers Lucy and Becca, friends, family, and especially my husband — thank you.

No fancy yoga gear.
No perfectly painted toenails.

Just me, my mat, and one hour to reconnect with myself after a busy week. 🤍

People often ask what I do as a therapist to take care of me… and honestly, Friday evening yoga at the barn is one of the most beneficial things I do for my nervous system, body, and mind.

It’s the gentle teachings.
It’s the lovely group of women who join me each week.
It’s the music.
It’s the peaceful, tranquil space.
It’s the perfectly planned asanas that help release the tension I’ve carried through the week.

For one hour, the world slows down a little.
My shoulders soften.
My breath deepens.
My mind quietens.

And that, in itself, is healing. ✨

A little reminder that self-care doesn’t need to look perfect to be powerful.

This is a beautiful practice if you’re feeling overwhelmed, tired, anxious, or simply in need of a gentle reset.

We’ll close the evening with a grounding herbal tea, giving you time to slowly return and head home feeling centred, nurtured and ready for the week ahead.

Just come as you are.

Chairs available if lying down isn’t comfortable for you - please request upon booking.

I’m hosting a Sound & Self-Care session at Alma Wellbeing Barn on Sunday 26th at 5pm.

This is a gentle 90-minute session for anyone feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or simply in need of time to pause.

We’ll move through:

✨ Simple breathwork to calm the nervous system
✨ A deeply relaxing sound bath
✨ A guided self-care ritual

Everything is provided — mats, blankets, and all the cosy touches so you can simply arrive, settle in, and switch off.

Spaces are limited, so feel free to message me if you’d like to book or ask any questions.

(Chairs may be provided if you are unable to lie down)
