Over the weekend a small team of CUCPSC members attended a charity shoot at Barbury Shooting School, organised by the University of Bristol Clay Pigeon Shooting Club. It was a brilliant weekend all round - despite a poor forecast, the weather turned out to be fantastic - with a very well organised competition, and a beautiful shooting ground, we all thoroughly enjoyed the day. We placed 4th out of the 18 teams competing - a mix of other university shooting clubs and the general public - with Sasha Sebright finishing joint 2nd for the women.

There was a great turn out on the day, with ÂŁ3,643 being raised in aid of the charity CALM - Campaign Against Living Miserably - https://www.thecalmzone.net/, which provides support to help combat su***de, through their helpline, and by campaigning both for greater awareness of the impacts of su***de, and for changes in our attitude towards seeking help.

Often mental health is overlooked, and seldom discussed at university, despite the constant and ever-increasing workload most of us are under. None of us are exempt from feeling down sometimes, so don’t be afraid to reach out. It’s okay to take a break from your work and focus on something different for a while; be that clay shooting or another hobby, look after your mental health.

CUCPSC President
