šŸ’«Intuition šŸ’« *trigger warning*

This photo was 2 years ago when we arrived at hospital.

2 years ago, my daughter had been at school and came home as her usual self. A few hours later she was complaining that her hands felt ā€œitchyā€ and they were red. As a parent that has worked with children for over 10 years, I’m not one to panic. I gave her some piriton and we carried on as normal.
A whole later she said that they didn’t feel right and my instinct kicked in. Fast forward a few hours and we were at hospital (she was fine in herself at this point). Sats were normal and everyone thought it was an allergic reaction.
It was cold in the room and she has been asleep for a few hours (it was 4am!) and then she woke and asked for a blanket. I got her one and realised that the redness on her hands had moved to her wrists. Something wasn’t right so I got the nurse.
It all happened a bit quick from here but before I knew it, she has been admitted and was fighting for her life.
She baffled a lot of doctors but eventually one clocked what the issue was. Not only did she have sepsis, she also had toxic shock syndrome. Her body was shutting down and I had to sign paperwork to allow them to save it via someone’s donated blood.

The point of this post is for two things.

To raise awareness about Sepsis and TSS but more so to trust your instinct. As a mum (or parent), there is nothing better than your own instinct. Never doubt it. Never.

If I hadn’t have listened to mine that day, I would have gone to work and let my teenager sleep it off.
Thankfully I didn’t and she’s here to tell the tale.

That little voice that you hear, trust it. It can save a life. 🌈

Babies should not sleep on any surface that straps or holds them in one position, whether that is on their back, front or side.

Some products are sold that claim to help babies relax by holding them in position on their tummy. However, it is very risky if babies fall asleep on their tummies, so we strongly recommend you do not use any item that does this.

Take a look at our product guide for more info: https://bit.ly/2NGSM70

At times when things get a little stressful, it’s important to remember what we are grateful for.

Today, I had to embark on another hospital appointment with my eldest. She almost died nearly 2 years ago and anything hospital related makes me on edge.

Gratitude comes in right there. I asked myself what am I grateful for? Today I’m grateful for some of my amazing friends checking in. I’m forever grateful for the amazing NHS who are so amazing. I’m also grateful for my daughter. She is the strongest person that I know. A warrior in true form.

That alone brings joy.

What are you grateful for today?

Meet Woody!

My babies are too old for my baby and postnatal yoga classes (my daughter comes to my other classes, though and my son quite often joins me in my own practice) so Woody comes along to classes for me to demonstrate on!

In the run up to in person classes starting, Woody and I will be showing you all some tips you can do with your baby at home so stay tuned!
