Sunjay Kapur

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sunjay Kapur, owner of the Aureus polo team, on Thursday, 12th June.

Sunjay became unwell during a match at Guards Polo Club and tragically passed away.

A talented and passionate polo player, Sunjay had recently celebrated a milestone victory, winning his first high-goal tournament—the prestigious Prince of Wales Trophy. He was a cherished member of the Beaufort Polo Club community, and we will remain deeply grateful for his presence, generosity, and love for the sport.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his wife, Priya Sachdev, his children, the Kapur family, and his Aureus teammates.

Out of respect for the family’s privacy, Beaufort Polo Club will not be making any further comment at this time.

The HPA is deeply saddened at the passing of Rufino Laulhé.

One of the brightest talents of his generation, his loss will be felt enormously across the polo community. He was not only a rising star and an inspiration for future players, but also a remarkable young man whose character shone both on and off the field.
