Leisurely early morning paddle on the Cam. I’d not been for a while so went slowly and took lots of photos, although it never changes much. But why not, when it looks this good? 🤷🏼♂️

Waited months to attempt the Great Ouse bore and then a few weeks after its peak around the Spring equinox, conditions looked decent again, and it was on.
Another crew of kayakers and SUPs was assembled, with some new faces trying it for the first time.
Sunday evening we paddled out, and waited, knowing it was probably not going to be as good as March, or even appear at all. For 45 minutes we watched and waited. Ready to call it a night, we heard shouts from a local on the river bank and our drone pilot

My second time racing in the and boy was it a tough one. Headwinds on the return leg meant at one point I was stationary.
Managed to get through it and post a time one minute faster than last year, so pleased with that. I need a faster board than my 12’6” tourer though!!

This morning I had the pleasure of leading a group from the community, which facilitates outdoor adventure activities for women. I love the ethos behind these communities. If you like the sound of it there’s likely to be a group in your area as they’re active across the UK.
