That’s Mini Athletics. Children moving, smiling, racing, jumping, throwing, and asking when they can do it all over again.
September is usually fully booked, so if you’ve been meaning to find out what our classes are all about, now is the time to book a taster before the summer break.

Noam’s Mini Athletics journey!
Noam first came to us for a taster at Trumpington, and his mum loved it straight away. At the time, Noam was still building his English, and she felt Mini Athletics could be a brilliant place for him.
And this is something we are really proud of!
Children do not need to fully understand English to enjoy Mini Athletics!
We coach sessions built through movement, stories, actions, demonstrations and energy.
The children can see what to do, feel part of the game and join in without needing every single word explained to them!
They race. They throw. They jump. They laugh. They copy. They learn.
Noam enjoyed it so much that he didn’t just sign up for Trumpington… he signed up for Impington too. His whole weekend is now basically Mini Athletics!
Over the last 6 months, Coach Ryan has noticed Noam becoming more and more talkative with him. At first, he didn’t say much, but now those words and that confidence are starting to come through.
Yes, coming twice a week means the certificates come around a little quicker, but that only happens because of the effort Noam puts in every single session!
And one of the loveliest parts is seeing Noam and his mum throwing the rockets around the hall before class starts. Another brilliant Mini Athlete and parent partnership, making memories before the session has even begun.
Well done Noam. What a brilliant journey already and we can't wait to see what else you achieve with us!

Everyone loves this moment.
The smile.
The celebration.
The feeling of winning.
But the reason we keep competition high in our 3.5-8 year old ( Littles and Minis!) sessions isn't because we want children to win every time.
It's because we want them to experience both.
To celebrate when things go well.
And to learn that when things don't go their way, another challenge is already waiting.
At Mini Athletics, there is always another race, another game, another target to hit.
The children quickly learn that one result doesn't define their day.
Even many adults struggle with losing!
Yet research shows resilience and emotional regulation develop through repeated experiences, NOT by avoiding them.
So imagine what it builds in a child when they learn before they’re 8 that losing isn’t the end!
It’s just the start of the next challenge.
Celebrating children learning to keep going

At Mini Athletics, the fun always comes first, but every game has a purpose.
When children reach across their body, twist, turn, throw, catch and move in different directions, they are learning to cross the midline — an important part of physical development that supports coordination, balance, control and overall movement efficiency.
To them, it feels like play.
To us, it’s building movement patterns that can support them for life.
That is what Mini Athletics is all about. Building strong foundations through fun, long before children even realise how much they are learning.

Look closely and you will see more than just a child racing to the finish line...
You will see posture.
Arm drive.
Knee lift.
Balance.
Coordination.
The building blocks of great running technique!
That is the science behind what we do at Mini Athletics.
We are helping children develop the movement patterns that make running more efficient, controlled and powerful — but we teach it in the way children learn best.
Through fun.
Through play.
Through stories.
Through memories.
So to them, it is just a brilliant race to the finish line.
But underneath that, they are learning how to run well for life!
If children can build strong running foundations and enjoy every second of it before they are 8, just imagine how much that can help them excel in the future.
Book a taster to find out for yourself!
