🔥☀️With all this hot weather we’re having at the moment in Cambridgeshire the ground keeps getting harder. Many older horses can struggle with the concussion on their joints and this gel packing is the perfect thing to help absorb that concussion and keep this horse sound and fit 🔨

The difference that good shoeing and the correct care can make to a foot in one shoeing cycle. Keratex hoof hardener has really helped in the journey to getting the feet of this Irish draught x into tip top condition even throughout this wet winter weather

Some semi-hunter shoeing today on a new horse that’s been ripping shoes off and had shelly, cracked up feet

This was a new horse to me that I shod today. It has unilateral sidebone in both forelimbs along with suspensory desmitis, then on top of that he loves to pull shoes off so I had an interesting time coming up with a solution.
He was shod with a handmade 3/4 fullered front shoe with the aim to shoe him as symmetrically as possible while boxing the shoe off heavily to make sure I could shoe him well and they would stay on! I also added a lateral sidebone shoe modification to the outside of the fronts to help ease landing and breakover.
On the hinds I shod him in a basic concave shoe and safed off the inside heavily because he brushes.
I’m looking forward to seeing how this horse will improve over a few shoeings.
