The Ship public house, Table Skittle Team

Tuesday 30th September saw the start of our new skittle season. Our first game wasn't totally succesful as we lost 8-1 to Rathmore Club B. team, hopefully better luck next Tuesday when we play Girton Social Club away.

Tomorrow sees the return of Cambridge skittles with the Ship playing at home to Rathmore B team. Come along and watch it sign up to play.

Rathmore A will organise an open singles skittles competition as we’ve done in previous years. The date will be TUESDAY 8th AUGUST 2023 , 7.30 pm, at the Rathmore Club, Cherryhinton Road, Cambridge.

Also well done Roger for winning the joint lowest set (24) scored this season. More to come next year I hope!

Another local article about tbe Carlton Arms skittles table. Athough to be correct it isn't a Northamptonshire table we have but a Cambridge one, much more fun to play on, quite different in that it has not got a net hood so the cheese can fly off the table.

Or from new social clubs and pub venues wanting to host teams of 6 to 12 players on Tuesday evenings.

And don't think you need to throw the 'cheese' (round wooden cheese in title photograph) fast and hard to knock the pins down as gentle shots achieve floorers too!
