I’m going to be working as a fitness consultant and personal trainer

Are you staying physically active while being stuck at home?

Being ‘physically active’ doesn’t necessarily mean going on long, boring runs everyday, or lifting weights, or completely exhausting yourself with HIIT workouts. Although those things are great for your body, to be physically active, you just have to not be sedentary.

There is an overwhelming amount of evidence that suggests that physical activity in any form, improves people’s mental health and the more sedentary someone is, the more likely they are to experience depressive symptoms.

So how can you stay physically active? Lots of people don’t enjoy running or resistance training, or simply can’t get into it, so what can you do instead?

Here are a few simple things you can add to your day to get you that bit more physically active.
1️⃣If you have stairs, make the most of them! If you need to go up, why not go up, come down, and go up again.

2️⃣Spend some time outside! Run around with a dog or a family member. Do some gardening to make your dream garden.

3️⃣Have a sing and a dance to a few of your favourite songs.

4️⃣Working from home? Why not go for a walk before you start and after you finish as if you were walking to and from work.
