Spring Head 2 Head | City of Cambridge RC Our annual Spring Head 2 Head race takes place on the Saturday of the Cambridge Big Weekend and this year will be on 3 May 2025.

The draw for the Junior Head is now online. Please go to our website for details. Looking forward to welcoming you to the race on Saturday.

City Junior Head | City of Cambridge RC The City Junior Sculling Head is a new race for City in 2025, but taking over from the Champs Junior Head, so an old race on the Cam.  We look forward to welcoming you to the event on Saturday 22 March 2025.

Entries are now open for the City Junior Head on Saturday 22 March.

The race is for sullers and has an 800m course under CRA rules at 10am, and a 1,500m race at 12pm and 2pm under British Rowing rules.

Entries are welcome from both Juniors and Seniors, but in the event the race is oversubscribed priority wll be given to Juniors.

Winter Head 2 Head | City of Cambridge RC The race is two lengths of 2,000m: race downstream, spin, and race back upstream for one of the longest races on the Cam!  

The Christmas Head has been cancelled.

Unfortunately we've made the decision to cancel the race. The wind is very strong and gusty which would make marshalling problematic, while the course would only be suitable for experienced crews.

I'll process refunds over the next couple of days and will be sending money back to the cards used for payment.

Thanks for all you patience - we really wanted to run the race if safe, but it's not worth the risk.

Update on the Christmas Head.

The forecast isn’t looking good for Saturday, but keeps changing. Given how many recent races have been called off, the race committee will do our best to run the event if safe.

The race course is sheltered, and most people entering are local, so we will leave the decision as late as possible – this could be on Saturday morning. Any change to race status will be notified to club entry secretaries on our website.

You can find the final draw below and we really hope we can welcome you on Saturday.

Christmas Head 2024 start order final

Entries close Sunday evening for the Christmas Head. We've got a handful of places left, so please get any last entries in.

We've had a few crews scratch, so have entries for all boat categories where there is space in the division.
