A GREAT 3V3 TOURNAMENT IN HITCHIN!

Eight of the team took part in a 3v3 tournament in Hitchin on Sunday, and what a brilliant afternoon it was!

The girls had great fun, worked hard and enjoyed every minute of the experience.

Emmy’s mum even sent her along with cake, which was very much appreciated! Laia delayed the team photo because she was busy eating, so when I asked for a silly photo, this was the outcome!

With two teams taking part, both sides battled brilliantly throughout the tournament.

The Blues were knocked out in the semi-final, while the Blacks lost to a last-minute goal in the final, finishing as runners-up. A tough way to end, but they should all be incredibly proud of their efforts.
Most importantly, every single girl left with a smile on her face, having enjoyed a fantastic afternoon together.

Well done, girls!

OUR FIRST JPL HOME LEAGUE GAME AND A WIN!

Gameweek 4 saw us take to our own home soil for the very first time in the JPL league, welcoming Hornchurch for a game we knew would give the girls plenty to work for.

With a full squad of 12 players, we had the numbers to work hard, make changes and keep the intensity up throughout the game.
And what a battle it was!

Hornchurch certainly didn’t make it easy for us. They put our defence under pressure and really tested our goalkeeper throughout the game. She stood strong when called upon and played a huge part in helping us keep that all-important clean sheet.

At the other end, the girls kept pushing and looking for their opportunity.
And then came the moment we needed…
Flo created the chance and got the shot away, with Olive following it in and making sure the ball found the back of the net!
A great bit of determination from both girls and exactly the kind of follow-up we love to see.

From there, it was about digging deep and protecting that lead. Hornchurch continued to apply pressure, but the girls stayed together, battled for every ball and defended their advantage right through to the final whistle.

FULL TIME: 1–0 WIN! 🏆
Three points.
A clean sheet.
Our first JPL home league win.
And a whole lot of hard work from all 12 girls.
It wasn’t an easy game, but these are the matches where the girls learn to stay composed, keep fighting and find a way to get the result.
A huge well done to every single player who played their part today.
Our JPL journey continues… and what a way to start on home soil!

This week’s players’ player of the match goes to Isla F. Very busy in midfield pushing forward and taking responsibility to chase back, always looking for an out ball. Her effort clearly appreciated by her team mates. Congrats Isla!

We’re pleased to announce that Hettie is our Coaches’ Player of the Week!

Hettie rock solid between the sticks!

Hettie put in a fantastic performance in goal, playing the full 80 minutes the longest shift on the pitch.

She made 5 free-kick interventions and got involved with 9 loose-ball recoveries, showing great composure and confidence to help launch attacks from the back.

A brilliant shift from our keeper and a performance that really stood out to the coaches.
