Great commiment shown today by the equipment maintenance team fixing some big issues and getting boats back on the water. Thank you Gio, Harry, Mark, Simon and Tom (who ended up coxing a PS boat as well!!). Also thanks to Bonk for fixing Boathouse issues.

Bumps Day 5 - Last practice starts and gutsy performances resulting in 3 boats bumping up, well done again to the two Masters boats and W4.
Not forgetting the terrific support of bank parties riding with the crews and cheering them on, especially our President Bonk who probably put in more miles on the tow path than anyone.

Bumps Day 3 - Another big effort from the club with the Womens Masters and the Chairmans Masters boats showing how it is done.
Bit of focus on the some of the many coaches who have put in a lot of time and effort developing our crews, thank you.

Our Men’s Tier 1 squad raced at Marlow last weekend, with our 4- and 4+ racing in the morning to prepare for Henley Qualifiers, and a fun 8 in the afternoon, which seemed a lot more fun on paper than after doing two 2ks in the heat in the 4s!
The 4+ reached the E final and came out on top of a battle with Edinburgh Uni, while the 4+ reached the F final and came out second best in a battle with the buoys… time for a bucket 🪣
The 8+ final is better watched than described: https://www.youtube.com/live/_W2LLbg0aD8?si=R2vUWX31FqhIwuBe&t=13460

Our Men’s Tier 2 squad (plus a few from T1) have been busy at local regattas recently, taking on Peterborough City Rowing Club ‘s Spring Regatta and St Ives Rowing Club ‘s regattas, with this being the first experience of side by side and small boats racing for many. They now turn their attention to bumps in late July.

We recently organised a capsize drill session - very important for knowing what to do on that inevitable day we transition from rowers to swimmers 😅. This also gave some the opportunity to try some new things out in the scull! Thanks to Parkside Pools for staying open late for us, and to Christine and the coaches for organising.
