Good news - the punts will be coming back out and will be ready to hire this week!

We will return to Michaelmas rules, with punts available to up to 6 students in a single household. Available for booking by call or in person at the Cripps Porter's Lodge for £7/hour (inflation and hard covid losses).

2 quick reminders - firstly we hope you’ve all been enjoying punting this term, the good news is that this can continue over lockdown in households! However we’d recommend taking advantage of this is the next few weeks as the punts are coming in for the winter before the end of term.

The second reminder is that the stash has been released for this year! This is the most subsidised in Johns let alone Cambridge and all you have to do is follow the link:

yeah, punting is pretty cool... but have you tried night punting?

In case you don't know, it's available for all Johnians! One just needs to be briefly inducted into crucial safety rules.

The inductions will happen on Wednesday and Friday at 21:00, Cripps Porters Lodge. They should last no more than 15 mins if participants are prompt.

Our Society is well-known to have been proudly offering the cheapest John's stash over the last couple of years. As we are aiming to defend "The Best StyleValue-For-Money" title for the 10th year in a row, we are taking serious steps to satisfy needs of all our members with a dose of great college clothing. We are ready to improve the quality, accessibility and wearability of the stash we provide.

‼️➡️For those who are new to bailing⬅️‼️
The puntpool is by the Cripps Plodge, quite easy to find. There are tools in the cupboard built into the ledge at the puntpool. The easiest way to do the work is to use the piston pump - it’s a bit like a syringe. You actuate the piston and the water gets drawn in and flushed out through a hole on the side. The other is using something that looks like a dustpan - you literally scoop the water out of the punt.
You can do the bailing whenever you want on the chosen date and you can get the voucher from porters at the Cripps Plodge. You need to tell them if you can have one or two vouchers depending on whether bailing was required on the day or not.
