This year the Selwyn sporting community will be taking part in Movember, supporting their work in mental health and prostate and testicular cancer. Over the coming month we'll be growing some dodgy facial hair and/or doing 'Move for Movember'. Sport can play an important role in promoting and helping mental health and we hope that throughout the month we'll be able to raise awareness of the importance of mental health and men's health in general, raise some money, and have a bit of fun along the way. We'll be sharing our progress as we go and any donations, no matter how small, would be massively appreciated.
Please support the cause if you feel you can at: https://uk.movember.com/donate/details?memberId=14607851

Match Report - Fresh-faced SCAFC come back to beat quality Old Boys side
On Saturday a team of many new recruits took to Fulbrooke Road to take on some familiar faces in the annual Old Boys game. Without a recognised goalkeeper on either side, restricting efforts on goal was always going to be crucial for both teams. The experience of the old boys looked too much for the fresh-faced Selwyn as they raced into an early two goal lead. However quickfire braces from freshers Andy Rutherford and Alex Aliev resulted in the current students holding a 4-2 lead going into the break. It's safe to say the second half was played at a lower intensity, with fitness proving an issue for many. Chances were harder to come by, but an excellent Edson OA strike looked to apply some pressure late on by making it 4-3. Again though, the pace of the current Selwyn students in behind proved too much for the ageing away side, with Victor Idowu finishing late on to cap off an excellent first outing for SCAFC. Final score SCAFC 5 - 3 Old Boys.
