Managing expectations with clients is something I often speak to coaches about

Rory came in ‘ready' for a transformation with little concept of what it would really entail

I knew the goal of sub 10% body fat was possible but we had a multitude of barriers to overcome first

My first question is always why (along with my 2nd, 3rd and 17th lol) this isn’t just to be annoying but to get a reason

Without this deeper connection to and end goal, we will fall off before we get close to our potential

Once we established reason we had to navigate an extremely busy social calendar, an extensive training and injury history along with the mindset that comes with that

We mapped out 3 months of priming with 3 main objectives:

- allow social life to calm down
- gather nutritional structure
- get the body into a position where it wasn’t simply going to break down after a few weeks of pushing

Once completed we had 3 months of fat loss which got Rory exactly the result he wanted

Rory fully committed to this process and put his trust into something that was so far away from anything he had ever done previously

Seemingly simple but we know to get something you never have you must be willing to do something you never have

It’s easy to talk about trusting the process, completely different game walking that walk

As coaches, I do believe it’s imperative that we have an understanding of what it is we are asking our clients to do

This doesn’t mean being ’shredded’ all year round but, in my experience, there is a positive correlation between those who have gone through a process and their ability to take others through one

Since Grant graduated the M10 Mentorship, he had aspirations of working with more body transformation clients. We knew therefore it would be extremely valuable for him to go through his own journey

Although this had been pursued before, it was essential this time to control the route out of the plan as much as the route in

Over 5 months we pulled 10kg’s off Grant for a fantastic first diet result

Since then we have been meticulous and deliberate in our processes and have seen a very successful gaining phase completed as a result

We soon begin our next phase with some big goals to tick off 📸

One of my favourite transformations to date.

Chronic pain will have massive impacts on mood, motivation, body composition, energy and mental state.

As a result, we can often find ourselves moving away from what we see as the real us.

Sandeep had been told by many professionals that she should simply ‘get used to being in pain’ as it was now part of her life.

I was genuinely shocked when she told me this and was absolutely adamant that we would do everything in our power to show this wasn’t destined.

It was simply a case of working with her structure and understanding the forces being applied to the body.

This is exactly the reason that I bang on so much about the importance of studying anatomy and understanding forces.

Over 2 years (and lockdowns) we worked to rid the chronic pain and manage the acute pain when it would rear it’s head.

We improved knowledge around nutrition, changed perceptions of food, got stronger than ever and worked to get in the best shape of her life and this was our result.

Ridding someone of pain is one of the most rewarding parts of my job as a coach and Sandeep was an absolute pleasure to work with throughout.

Coaches are in such a rush to get to online thinking it is the natural progression.

If you struggle with self-confidence in your coaching BELIEVE ME you won’t find the solution going online.

It isn’t what you think it is.

You’ll need more than a level 3 qualification and a canva subscription to make it work.

Spend time training people in a 121 format, get confident doing so and get some actual results.

Experience isn’t something you can buy or short cut.

Once you learn principles, all the methods will make sense.

A great 2 weekends of filling the noggin with .education.

Thanks to the team for making it such a great environment to learn in and to .goulden for delivering yet another fantastic course.

These photos are 12 months apart and there is 100g difference between them. Seemingly a long stint for scales to barely move. Body fat was however reduced by 9%.

Trust is one of the most, if not the most important asset to have in a coach client relationship.

Without this, changes will not occur. There must be investment from both parties.

Kim fully trusted and committed to this process, and that is why she got these results.

This involved a 12-month approach which saw us build structure, behaviours, food, and strength. We pushed for an initial weight increase of 6kg’s and set ourselves in the best position in which to pull from.

Why? Because despite what the internet may have you believe, not everything can be done in 12 weeks.

Improving body composition is often seen as a simple case of decreasing intake and increasing output.

Although there is truth to this, gathering data, establishing a starting point, and planning the process will serve you better to get higher calibre results.

A planned and well executed marathon as opposed to a throwing everything and the kitchen sink at it sprint.

Doesn’t mean you’re not working hard

Means you’ll last longer in this game and probably won’t resent your job in a few years

Consistency is talked about by many and practiced by few.

Transformations take as long as they take and people's starting point will largely dictate their time frame.

The biggest thing people should do is stop wasting time looking for a quicker route to success and simply commit too, and enjoy the process.

Paul ticked every box asked of him over our initial 6 month period to achieve this and I couldn't be happier with the result.

He ended up losing over 20kg, improving all tracked health markers, and transforming his body and mind into something he never thought possible.

This was simply the outcome of 6 months of consistent and dedicated work.

The goal was never a nice photo. The goal was a complete overhaul in body and mind and I know we achieved just that.

Since these photos (December 2020) we have been working at building and beating this and, with some new motivators and some new challenges, we're very keen to see what 2022 is going to bring us.

One of the best pieces of business advice I ever got given was to be patient

As coaches we are employed in a position of authority, people will listen to what we say
_
This is a stance we shouldn't take lightly
_
It’s important that we think critically and do our due diligence
_
We must spend time in the trenches and earn our stripes
_
In an industry of fads and 6 figure funnels, take pride in resisting short term gratification in pursuit of the long term success
_
Remember why you started. To help people
_
You should 100% want to make money in this industry and you 100% can. Just not at the expense of your morals and off the back of clients desperation to see a scale number drop
_
The best coaches look to hone their craft over many years even decades
_
They do it for the love of the job, and for the confidence and belief they can instil in people
_
Chase purpose and the money will follow
