Combat PT, What can we say about this class.
Perfected with years of military physical training delivery, this is the real deal.
Each Combat PT class will throw you to the edge of your comfort zone and keep you there for a period of time whilst you lift, carry and move.
It’s all about the teamwork in this session, where working together is the only way forward.
Expect plenty if kit such as logs, tires, sandbags, slam balls or weights to keep you totally challenged throughout.
On top of that, your instructors will lay on a military experience, with scenarios, loads of banter and they will help you find new limits you didn’t know you had.
One of the unique aspects of Combat PT is the back-to-basics, no-nonsense approach. Our instructor’s role is to drive members to achieve challenging goals and keep you accountable to yourself.

High intensity interval training, better known as HIIT involves short bursts of intense exercise alternated with low-intensity recovery periods.
HIIT is one of the most popular fitness trends, and for good reason. It is a time-efficient way to exercise for a couple of reasons.
Firstly, a HIIT session can last between 30-45 minutes to be effective. Secondly, studies have shown that this form of training can increase the amount of calories burnt both during and after exercise.
Researchers have found that when programmed correctly, HIIT can burn up to 30% more calories than other forms of exercise such as running or cycle.
Additionally, HIIT increases your metabolic rate for hours after your workout. This is where excess post-exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC) kicks in. Your body uses extra energy to recover from the high intensity workout, therefore burning more calories for a period of time afterwards, possible more than if you went for a run or did weight training.
To achieve this, you have to go HARD in a HIIT workout. This type of class really is one of those where the more you put in, the more you get out. What’s equally important are the short rest periods so that you can continue to work at a high intensity during the work phase and achieve the correct physiological effect.
This can be achieved with full body exercises, both bodyweight or equipment based that work your major muscle groups.
HIIT can improve your oxygen consumption in a shorter period of time than other endurance training methods. This can be beneficial if you are short on time and want to improve your endurance.
There are health benefits too. A large amount of research indicated that HIIT can reduce heart rate and blood pressure, particularly in people who are overweight or obese.
So in summary, HIIT is a very efficient method to exercise and may help you burn more calories than other forms of exercise. Increased metabolism after the workout will increase the amount of calories burnt from your session.
It may produce many of the same health benefits as other forms of exercise but in a shorter period of time.

One of our signature classes, the Battle Circuit. An hour of full on phys!!!
No messing, no mincing, this session is military style circuit training to the core.
The class offers a circuit training experience delivered in a static location using a wide range of cardio and muscular endurance exercises. Utilising a wide range of kit, bodyweight exercises and movement based activities, you should leave a Battle Circuit feeling pumped.
You’ll achieve a full body conditioning class which is great for building up your all round fitness levels.
You will get stronger through pushing yourself hard in a circuit class and becoming more resilient.
Watch your muscular endurance improve over time as you can sustain exercise for longer periods of time by practicing a high number of reps for each exercise.
You’ll burn a shed load of calories in this class with its non stop approach, mixing between bodyweight exercises, lifting kit and cardio work with short bursts of rest.
Pretty much every muscle group will be hit in a circuit training workout and if you push yourself hard enough you should achieve muscle growth to improve your muscle tone.
It’s great for all ability levels as each exercise can usually be adapted to everyone with various weights of equipment available for each member and exercise variations offered if required.
So, with all these awesome health and fitness benefits you need to get Circuit Training into your weekly schedule.
Combing both cardio and strength training, this will improve muscular strength and endurance whilst smashing loads of calories.

Battle Strong is one of our most popular classes that will improve your physical fitness, body composition and mental strength.
Strength training is a great way to improve your fitness and offers endless benefits. We highly recommend participating in these classes to get the best possible results from your BB training.
Some of the benefits include:
• Makes you stronger. Getting stronger helps you to perform daily tasks much easier such as carrying stuff around or running around with kids etc. As we age, our muscle mass decreases and we can feel weak and tired a lot. Weight training can help prevent this by maintain muscle mass.
• Great for weight loss. So building muscle increases your metabolic rate (how many calories you burn) and your body will burn more calories when resting. Research shows that your metabolic rate can increase for up to 72 hours after strength exercise, this making it great for fat loss if you’re in a calorie deficit.
• Reduces risk of injury. Strength training helps improve your range of motion and mobility of your muscles, joints and tendons, strengthening your joints which will protect you from injury. Additionally, building a stronger core, glutes and hamstrings can help reduce the risk of lower back injuries which can be common for people who exercise without adding strength training into their routine.
• Boost your self-esteem. Strength training pushes you to overcome challenges when working towards a goal which can increase your self-efficacy and belief in yourself. Research has shown that strength training can have a positive impact on your body image resulting in a boost of self-confidence.
• Makes your bones stronger. Weight bearing exercises put stress on your bones which results in your body rebuilding your bones stronger. This is beneficial to everyone, but can be particularly beneficial to older females to help prevent osteoporosis related injuries.
• Improves sports performance. Whether you are training for a run, team sports or individual competition, incorporating strength training into your weekly training plan is a must if you participate in sport. All of the benefits above combine to improve your overall performance and be a stronger, better athlete.

For the next few days, we're going to post content about our different class types with the aim of educating you more on the benefits of each class type.
One of the reasons we offer a range of class types is to provide you with a balanced training programme so that you can maximise your fitness and get the best possible results with BB.
Bootcamp Fitness is one of our signature sessions. This class will improve your cardio vascular system, muscular endurance and build a strong engine. We highly recommend you to add at least one of these classes to your training plan each week. The stamina you build up in these classes will directly transfer over to your HIIT, Strength and Circuits enabling you push harder and progress more. Bootcamp classes include a mix of bodyweight and equipment based exercises.
If you're more into strength based classes and tend to avoid these as you're scared of a little running around, don't be. Tackle these weaknesses head on and get involved in a Bootcamp Fitness class. We guarantee you will feel the benefits.
