Zingari show spirit despite tough test at Sittingbourne

After a difficult opening spell against a powerful and well-drilled Sittingbourne side, Canterbury Zingari battled their way back into the contest with typical determination and attacking intent.

⚡ A brace from Brad Alchurch and a superb score from Jake Vowell kept the visitors in touch, showing the character and resilience that defines this squad.

The match was unfortunately brought to an early end following a serious injury to a Canterbury player. We wish them a full and speedy recovery.

A strong start to a back-to-back run of home fixtures.

Octoberfest was celebrated with a difference at the Marine Travel Ground as Canterbury secured their first home win of the season with a nine-try performance against Havant.

Despite conceding the opening score, the city side never looked in danger as a back division strengthened by the return of experienced players accounted for seven of the nine tries. Garry Jones crossed for a hat-trick, while Player of the Match Owain Collins produced a standout display, finishing with a personal haul of 19 points and converting seven of Canterbury's nine scores.

The bonus point was secured before the interval, with Canterbury's attacking intent and accuracy proving too much for the visitors, laying the perfect platform for a convincing victory in front of the home support.

As attention now turns to the second of two consecutive home fixtures, Canterbury will be looking to build on the momentum generated by one of their most impressive performances of the campaign so far.
