KENT FRESHERS IN RUTHERFORD COLLEGE(Tyler, Rutherford and some of Parkwood) if you're interested in There are three types of football at UKC;

If you live in Rutherford, Tyler Court, Kemsdale, Lypeatt or Marley Court then you’re lucky enough to be part of RUTHERFORD college! One benefit is that you have Mr Peter Klappa as your Master but the main benefit is that you have the opportunity to be part of the Inter College Football Cup winners of 2012/13 - RUTHERFORD RAIDERS! As Rutherford Raiders, we play against other college teams such as
Keynes, Darwin and Eliot. Inter College (what we play – THE BEST): This is the highest form of competitive football on campus. It has the social side and enjoyment of the University team with lower costs and it is right on your doorstep.
2. University football: This involves you competing against other universities with long commutes on a Wednesday traveling up and down the country and extortionate prices for signing up and kit.
3. KAFL: This is the university amateur league which is more casual. You can be part of both the College league and the KAFL but Kent sport rules dictate that you can’t play in both College and Uni football. - Our Wednesday games are always followed by one of our socials, created by our amazing social sec's Richard Day and Sam Martin at the famous 'Vensday' (the best sports night in Canterbury!) which will quickly become your favourite night of the week.
- Not only will you be part of all of this but you will have the opportunity to join us on our (not to be missed/highlight of the year) Raiders tour. This year we ventured to Zante and it’s highly likely that this amazing week will be repeated again next year. We are a very successful team winning the Inter College Cup last season, beating Darwin Evo in the final. Every time we have got out of the group stage of the cup we have one it (2013,09,08). How much more convincing do you need that we are the most successful team to play for on campus (the stats show it! http://www.ukcfootball.tc33.org/index.php )
