❤️ A DRAW- CALLED FOR LIGHT

Last night we met Gower for our final game of the 2026 season. It was a long one but a brilliant way to end the summer.

We started off on the bat and it was clear from the first round that we were tired! It’s been an intense season and it showed 😅

Gower, are a very tight fielding side, with some of the most agile fielders in ladies baseball and they were hot, they were on it. A few key players dropped quickly and before we knew it, we had 4 batters remaining but they dug in, topping up our score and ending on 48 runs.

Gower went in to bat and we took them for 68 runs, with some solid action in the field and around the diamond.

With 20 runs in it and an hour until sunset, we needed to put in the work…and we did 😉 Hitting 129 runs, with 8 batters still in play at 10 rounds. Incredible!

With us 20 minutes left, Gower went straight back in and the game was called for light at 55 runs on the score sheet.

Whilst this wasn’t a win, both sides left with a point each, we can officially confirm that…

Well done to Hayley McDonald for being awarded Player of the match for the sixth time this season! Unbelievable 👏

Well done also to Thêa O'Brien Bethan Jones and Charly Shugar for hitting 33, 24 and 24 runs respectively!

Honourable mentions go out to the new youth talent in the Gower squad- you girls did amazing on the pegs, racking up the runs, and in the field too, especially your backstop. Amazing to see such great talent joining an already stellar team!

🖤 THE LAST DANCE

This is it. Tonight, the 2026 season comes to an end.

For one last time, you can catch us over Sevenoaks, playing Gower for our final league instalment of the year.

The support we’ve had this year has been unmatched but tonight, we need you guys more than ever. We’re coming together to honour one of our own, someone who has supported us for 30 years. This one really means a lot.

🏆 WE WON!

Last night saw us face our neighbours and good friends Canton Cross Ladies for the final time in 2026, and boy, did we make hard work of it…

First innings started off great, hitting 94 runs, with notable mentions once again for Bethan Jones and Maisies Flowers who hit 29 runs and 25 runs respectively 🥵

Canton then went into bat and secured a strong score of 66 runs. With a 28 run difference, it was our turn to get back into bat…

Cutting to the chase here, we hit 47 runs and Canton needed 76 to win. We knew we could do it but we gave ourselves the run around in the process. 57 runs later, it was all out and…

🏆 WE WON!

Tonight we were back alongside Boomerang Splott Albion and it was another match that did not disappoint. It was a lovely, calm one, with plenty of banter and good vibes.

We started off on the bat, locking in a big score of 113 runs, with our Captain Maisies Flowers and bowler Hayley McDonald hitting a whopping 22 and 26 runs respectively 🔥

We put Boomerang into bat and it was amazing to see so much young talent coming through. We had a great fielding innings though, with plenty of action round the bases and a cracking catch from Chloe, and a quick throw to Luccia Wilson who took the runner heading to base 2. It was all out at 34 runs.

We put Boomerang back into bat and much like the first innings, it was dominated by slick action in the diamond and catches, including a corker from Bethan Jones at the end 🔥 It was all out at 44 runs which means…

It was a full circle moment playing Boomerang Splott Albion tonight and we can’t bug you girls up enough. Your first season in premier and what a season it’s been. Shout out to your bowler who was on fire, along with the young talent you’re bringing through to keep the game alive. From your warm welcome, to your ref, it was honestly an all round lovely night ❤️

🗓️ THREE GAMES LEFT…

We blinked and the season is practically over. We say this every year but it’s flown by so quickly.

We’ve had the most amazing support (as always) and we’d love to see you all there for our last couple of weeks as we see out summer 2026.

Catch us tomorrow playing Boomerang Splott Albion away, then next Tuesday against Canton Cross Ladies at home and to finish off, two days later against Gower at home.

The countdown is on but it’s business as usual. See you tomorrow!

⚾️ CALLED FOR LIGHT

Oh boy, where do we begin…

Last night saw us take Llanrumney for our second league match of the season and a game always look forward to as they bring the fire, heat and passion to the game that we enjoy.

First innings saw us start on the bat and we had a great time out there. With a conservative approach, we settled in and the girls comfortably began to rack up an enormous score, with a notable mention once again to Bethan who was hitting 4 runs for fun (with two lots of those going out the park, incredible.

124 runs, 80 minutes and 10 rounds of batting later, with 5 players still remaining, it was all out.

A phenomenal display. Well done girls!

Next up it was time to field and we started off strong, grafting to pretty quickly drop 8 players but their final 3 batters remained strong, doing the leg work to boost their score. It was all out at 68 runs and the clock begin to tick…

We sent Llanrumney back into bat and it was a similar scenario to the previous innings but with a few Grange Albion mistakes early on. But this did not impact us and we we did what we do best…we kept our head in the game and stayed strong.

As the night started to draw in ir became very obvious that without efficient play, this could get called for light. We were so close to an innings win but at 72 runs it was all out.

We needed 17 runs to win and had 10 minutes, which we knew we could do as the first innings displayed how big scores were coming quickly and easily…but the game slowed.

With 5 runs left in the game and a player toed to the pegs, sunset came….

It was 9:30pm....GAME OVER!

With just 5 runs in it for the win and 10 players still left in the game…that was it.

An unfortunate end to what was a fantastic display of baseball. We were on fire and tighter than ever around the bases, in the diamond and on the field alike. Well done ladies!

Congratulations to Hayley for getting a well deserved Player of the Match once again, fresh off a flight from Turkey too

All is not over, we take Llanrumney again tomorrow for the Premier Division Cup final over Tremorfa Park at 6:15pm.
