Morning everyone,

With the weather today set to be the best this year, we expect The Rec to be busy, so we’re moving practice to Riverside Park at Rumney RFC — Hartland Road, CF3 4JL.

Spond has been updated.

Although training is later in the evening, please still make sure players come prepared for the heat — sun cream applied before training, plenty of hydration/water, suitable lightweight clothing, and anything else they may need to stay comfortable in the warm weather.

🔥 U14 MVPs. Big performances. Big heart. 🔥

Rain, tough opposition and challenging conditions — but the U14s showed resilience, fight and plenty of quality throughout the day. A hard-fought 1–2 record doesn’t tell the full story, with this squad still firmly in the hunt and everything left to play for. 💙🖤

🏈 Offensive MVP – Haydn
A HUGE day under centre. Haydn lit up the offence with an incredible 10 touchdowns and 534 passing yards from 45 completions, while also adding 2 rushing touchdowns for good measure 😮‍💨🔥 Calm, composed and consistently delivering when the team needed him.

🛡️ Defensive MVP – Issy
A defensive powerhouse performance. Issy led from the front with an unbelievable 20 tackles and 3 pass break-ups, flying into plays, disrupting the opposition and showing relentless determination in difficult conditions. 💪⚡

👏 Coaches’ Choice – Nia
An outstanding all-round contribution and impact on both sides of the ball. Nia finished the day with 134 receiving yards, 10 catches from 15 targets, a touchdown, 5 tackles and a pass break-up — stepping up in every phase of the game and making big moments count. 🌟

Every player gave everything for the badge once again and continues to do the Wildcats proud. 🐾 Plenty of positives to build on, valuable lessons learned, and with two game days left, there is still EVERYTHING to play for. We go again. 💯

🔥 U17 MVPs. What a day. What a performance. 🔥

💪 Defensive MVP – Jake
After a slow start, Jake stepped up in a HUGE way when the team needed him most. Finishing the day with 13 tackles, 5 pass break-ups and 2 pick sixes, he turned defence into dominance and showed exactly what stepping up for the badge looks like. 🛡️⚡

🏈 Offensive MVP – Sam
Arguably his best performance of the season. 2 touchdowns, an extra point, 14 catches and 68 rushing yards — but the work didn’t stop there. Sam also went both ways for two games, putting in a massive defensive shift with 9 tackles. Relentless effort. 👏🔥

👊 Coaches’ MVP – Tom
Challenged to elevate the offence — and responded in style. A more balanced attack, improved scoring, and an all-round masterclass: 5 touchdowns, 2 extra points, 80% completion rate, 11 catches from 12 attempts and 180 rushing yards 🤯
Then defensively? Took on the challenge of shutting down one of the league’s most dangerous receivers while adding 4 pass break-ups and 7 tackles. Leadership. Sacrifice. Impact. 💯

👏 Special mention to Oscar for a relentless defensive performance, recording a brilliant QB sack, 16 QB pressures and a huge pass break-up. Effort like that never goes unnoticed.

Most importantly, every single player gave everything for the badge and continues to make the Wildcats proud. 🐾 Plenty of positives, plenty still to fight for — now we lock in and finish this season strong. 💙🖤
