🔥 WALES’ STRONGEST MAN 2026 – EVENT 3 🔥

📦 BIG BRESS REMOVALS LOADING MEDLEY 📦

The third event of Wales’ Strongest Man 2026 is a true test of speed, strength and endurance.

Athletes will battle the clock in the Big Bress Removals Loading Medley, racing to load a series of heavy implements into and alongside a skip. Every second counts, and every point could prove crucial in the overall standings.

As the midway point of the competition, this event could be the one that separates the leaders from the chasing pack and sets the stage for the final two events.

👀 ATHLETES TO WATCH

Some of the athletes competing this year have already shown their loading ability in a similar event at Wales’ Strongest Man 2024:

⚡ David Ramplee – 19 seconds
⚡ Ben Pascoe – 21 seconds
⚡ Simon Hammett – 22 seconds
⚡ Steffan Jones – 34 seconds

Times are based on the loading of the two bags only.

But this year brings a bigger challenge, with 120kg, 140kg and 160kg bags plus a tyre, all to be tackled within the 75-second time limit.

Who will rise to the challenge and put themselves in contention for the title of Wales’ Strongest Man 2026?

🏆 ATHLETE ANNOUNCEMENT — JAMES FRANCIS

Next up in our athlete announcements is James Francis, 33, from Chepstow! 💪🔥

James returns to Wales’ Strongest Man for his second appearance, after an impressive 6th-place finish in 2025. He secured his place in this year’s competition through the qualifier and will be looking to build on that performance.

💪 FAVOURITE EVENTS: James loves a good pressing event — so keep an eye out when the overhead work begins!

🎯 THE GOAL: A 330kg deadlift would be a personal best for James, and he’s absolutely shooting for it this year!

And James certainly isn’t short on confidence either… 😂

👀 He has unofficially voted himself the best-looking man at this year’s competition.

📏 With arguably the shortest arms in the field at just 29 inches, James has some serious disadvantages when it comes to pulling — but those 21-inch biceps might make up for it! 💪

After finishing 6th last year, can James climb even higher this time around?

The arms may be short, but the ambitions certainly aren’t. 🔥

🏆 ATHLETE ANNOUNCEMENT — GAVIN BILTON

A man who needs no introduction… 💪🔥

Next up in our athlete announcements is Gavin Bilton, 37, from Caerphilly — the reigning four-time Wales’ Strongest Man champion.

Gavin has an incredible record at this competition. He finished 2nd on his first appearance, followed by another 2nd-place finish in his second year, before going on to win every year he competed after that — apart from 2024, when he didn’t compete.

He has also competed at World’s Strongest Man five times, establishing himself as one of the biggest names in Welsh strongman.

Standing at 6ft 6in, Gavin is one of the biggest athletes in the field. Yet despite his height, he’s actually the shortest of three brothers! 😂

Wales’ Strongest Man on 11 October will be Gavin’s ONLY strongman competition in Wales this year.

Next up in our athlete announcements is David Ramplee, 35, from Llandrindod Wells! 💪🔥

David is no stranger to the Wales’ Strongest Man stage, finishing an impressive 2nd place in 2025 — securing his automatic qualification for Wales’ Strongest Man 2026.

And he’s already got some serious numbers behind him…

🪨 220kg Atlas Stone Welsh Record Holder 🇽🇪

When it comes to his favourite and least favourite events, David knows exactly where he stands. He hates max-distance events, but keep an eye out when the throwing medley comes around — a discipline where David considers himself the “best tosser in Wales.”

And perhaps most impressively, he’s doing it all with only one fully functioning calf.

One leg down, but certainly not out of the fight. 💪

David is definitely one to watch — and he’ll be coming for that top spot in 2026. 🔥

We’re continuing our athlete announcements with Callum Hunt-Price, 28, from Tredegar! 💪🔥

Callum has earned his place at this year’s Wales’ Strongest Man after making his way through the qualifier, and he’ll be looking to improve on his previous best finish of 11th place.

And Callum certainly knows a thing or two about taking on a challenge. Last year, he climbed Ben Nevis — the UK’s highest mountain — while weighing an incredible 158kg! 🏔️💪

With his strength and determination, Callum will be looking to make his mark on this year’s competition and climb the leaderboard.

He secured his place at this year’s competition by finishing an impressive 3rd at the qualifier, earning his shot at taking on some of the strongest athletes in Wales once again.

EVENT SPOTLIGHT: PRESSING MEDLEY

The second event of Wales’ Strongest Man 2026 will test overhead strength, speed and the ability to move quickly through four different implements.

Athletes will have 75 seconds to complete the pressing medley:

🏋️ 140kg Axle
🏋️ 80kg Dumbbell
🏋️ 160kg Log
🏋️ 100kg Dumbbell

Four implements. One clock. Every second counts.

The athletes will need to press each implement before moving on to the next, with the fastest athletes able to bank valuable points in the second event of the competition.

EVENT SPOTLIGHT: Wrexham L***r DEADLIFT FOR REPS

The opening event of Wales’ Strongest Man 2026 is a true test of strength, endurance and determination.

Athletes will have 60 seconds to complete as many repetitions as possible on the Trump Bar Deadlift.

🏋️ 330kg
🏋️ 370kg

⚠️ One successful rep at 370kg scores higher than any number of reps completed at 330kg. Every athlete must decide whether to maximise reps or gamble on the heavier bar.

To put that into perspective, a 50L Wrexham L***r keg weighs approximately 62.5kg.

That’s the equivalent of lifting:
🍺 330kg = just over 5 full kegs or 464 pints of l***r
🍺 370kg = almost 6 full kegs or just under 521 pints of l***r
