Really enjoying working with at the moment. He’s come to me with a goal of improving fitness levels, strength/power and improving performance in kickboxing.

Initial 6-week block has seen an incredible jump on strength levels:
Bench press: 75kg (up 10kg)
Barbell Deadlift: 130kg (up 20kg)
Hex Bar Deadlift: 170kg (Not tested at start of block but a personal best)

This is just the initial progress so excited to see how far we can take the next training block and the progressions to come!

⚖️ Weight loss 📉

A very important thing that people need to understand with weight loss is it very rarely is a straight line with a continuous drop of 1-2 lb every week.

You will have social events and things that happen in life that set you back but it’s about planning around some of these things that will make the big difference.

here has now lost 5kg since the start of the year! As you can see from the graph it hasn’t been a straight loss as there are peaks and troughs throughout.

Kasey has done brilliantly so far this year and there’s more to come. What we’ve really focused on is getting the balance with work and getting gym sessions in. It’s been about getting activity in where possible throughout the day too and adjusting habits.

The recent month has shown that Kasey is now getting used to these habits and adjusting little things through the week to make big progress so really pleased so see this, Well done Kasey 👍🏻

HOWEVER, I’ve had some requests to also offer just training plans on their own for people who are either looking to make a start with their training goals or for people who only need the guidance of a plan.

Start of a new week!

Keep working and keep pushing yourself every session 💪

Very pleased with the progress made by my clients last week everyone has started 2022 with a bang.

It sounds so simple but just 4% of your day to make yourself feel so much better is very achievable!

You can progress so much by making that effort especially on those days where you just don’t feel like exercising.

DE-LOAD WEEK

I’m currently on a de-load week and have had a few people ask me why is it important to de-load?

Having a de-load week is essential for progression in the gym.

If you’re programming effectively to overload your lifts then you will elicit fatigue. It becomes very difficult to sustain this over a period of time so having a week to back off on your training will benefit you massively in the long run.

There are a few different ways of de-loading.
These include:
- Reduce volume (sets and reps)
- Reduce intensity (weight)
- Reduce frequency (amount of sessions)

By making these adjustments in your training plan for one week you can train while recovering and then be prepared for another block of training.

Client testimonial!

This has honestly made my week receiving this from my client Jess.

I started working with Jess during lockdown with some zoom sessions targeting keeping some weight off during lockdown.

Following lockdown Jess has stayed on with myself in an online capacity with programming and nutrition support as well as having weekly sessions in the gym.

Since lockdown, the change of physique that has taken place has massively boosted her confidence and that was probably the most pleasing aspect of the whole journey.

Jess has hardly complained and got on with what I’ve asked of her (even if it was split squats 😂). She has worked extremely hard and hit PBs and is currently the strongest she’s ever been.

These sort of progressions are why I love doing what I do!

Start of a brand new week!

Client check-ins being sent out today and already really pleased with what I’m seeing 💪

My Monday thought is an issue I’ve received from a lot of past and present clients and that’s confidence in the gym and worrying about what others think of what you’re doing.

My response to that is nobody actually cares what you’re doing and they’re too fixated on their own session to worry.

My training plans also include demonstration videos so you know you’re performing an exercise with the correct technique and all clients can send me videos of technique on Instagram too.
