Seren Dwr

A brilliant weekend at Langham Farm for Seren Dŵr, with 17 paddlers taking part across Wildwater racing, team events and Div 3/4 slalom.

There were plenty of highlights, from first-time river paddlers and first-time racers gaining confidence on the water, to some fantastic results across the weekend. Congratulations to Ioan Sutherland on winning Div 3 K1M, Aneurin Friston-Kemble and Riley Wilford on their Wildwater C2 victory, and Evan Tully on earning promotion to Div 3 C1M.

One of the most inspiring stories came from Gwen McDonald, who paddled a kayak for the first time on Saturday before racing in Div 4 on Sunday.

Most of all, the weekend was about supporting each other, trying new things and enjoying time on the water together.

A big weekend last weekend for Welsh paddlers at HPP, and plenty to celebrate!

Huge congratulations to Board Director Lisette Nixon, who passed her Freestyle Coach assessment last Thursday. Brilliant news, and great to see leadership continuing to give back to the sport through coaching and development.

It was also a strong weekend for Seren Dwr, with some fantastic results and promotions on the water. Highlights included Harrison Morton and Isabella Starka earning promotion to Division 1, alongside a string of podium finishes and strong performances across both days.

With paddlers from clubs across Wales, including Seren Dwr and Llandysul, making the journey to HPP, it really felt like a Welsh takeover. Well done to everyone who raced, coached and supported over the weekend.

What a weekend for Seren Dwr at Holme Pierrepont 🌊

From podium finishes and race wins to kayak cross, wild water racing and paddlers stepping outside their comfort zones, it was a huge weekend across all divisions.

A massive congratulations to Harrison Morton and Izabella Starka on securing promotion to Division One 👏

The weekend also saw strong performances from Rowan Cysewski Light, Louis Cousins, Riley Wilford, Eva Camilleri, Evan Tully, Freddie Davies, Aneurin Friston-Kemble, Ioan Sutherland and many more across slalom, kayak cross and wild water racing.

It’s brilliant to see their hard work being recognised, and we’re so proud of everything they’re achieving on and off the water.
