That’s a wrap on our 2026 exam sessions! ❤️ 4 whole days of exams 😅
A massive well done to every dancer who took an ISTD Ballet, Tap or Modern exam this week.
I’ve loved seeing all of the hard work that has gone into preparing for these exams, and I was so proud of all of them. They walked into the exam room with confidence, determination and plenty of smiles.
We’re all excited to see the results when they arrive, but right now I’m just proud. Proud of the hard work that went in over the last few months, the resilience they showed when things felt difficult, the support they showed one another in the lead up and this week during the exams, and proud of every single child who walked into that room and gave it everything they had.
Well done dancers❤️
It’s one of my favourite times of the year for a reason. I’ve loved spending the week with the dancers, staff, and parents/grandparents/aunties who came to support.
A huge thank you to Ffion and Layla, who are fundamental to the success of this week. We are all so lucky to have you ❤️
And a huge thank you to you, parents/grandparents/aunties. I don’t take your sacrifices for granted when it comes to rescheduling your week to get your children to and from their exams. You have been the biggest support to the dancers and I’ve loved spending time with you this week.

Parent Watch Week is here 💛
This week, we invite you into the studio to see what your child’s class really looks like.
Not a performance, but a real lesson.
The warm up, the exercises, the learning, the friendships… all the little moments that make up their week.
It’s a chance to see:
• how your child learns
• how we teach and support them
• how their confidence, focus and independence are developing over time
We’ve written a short guide to help you understand what to expect, why we do it, and how it supports your child’s development throughout the year.
You can read it here 👇
Parent Watch Week: What to Expect & Why It Matters Ever wondered what really happens in your child’s dance class? Parent Watch Week gives you a real, honest glimpse into their learning, development, friendships, and growing confidence.

I’m still finding it hard to put into words just how special last weekend was. Hence the very belated post. I don’t think anything I could ever say could convey my pride, happiness and gratitude for the dancers and my team.
My heart is so, so full ❤️❤️
These shows were honestly my favourite to date. I cried in every single one. The improvement across the board was so clear to see and it made me so proud. I can’t believe those little 2-5 year olds that started with us all those years ago, are now dancing such difficult choreography, and doing so so beautifully in the grade 2/3 and year 7-9 classes. It blows me away how much they’ve developed. Especially in the last year.
The dances looked amazing, and that’s all down to the children, their dedication, their energy and the pure joy they bring to every class and every performance. I am beyond proud of each and every one of them.
To our parents and families, thank you for the support, the clapping, the cheers, the happy tears and for trusting us with your children. The atmosphere you created was just amazing and it meant more to us and the dancers than you probably realise. Your messages and emails have filled my heart, thank you so much for taking the time to share those with us.
And to my absolute dream team without whom, none of this is possible. The care, patience, energy and love you pour into these children shows in everything you do, and last weekend was such a reflection of that. I’m so grateful to work alongside people who care as much as I do.
Last weekend was such a reminder of why we do what we do.
My heart is very full, my body is still not recovered, and I’m already missing it all.
What a weekend 🤍✨

Wow… What an incredible weekend!!
We’re still catching our breath and letting it all soak in — we’ll be sharing photos, stories, and reflections just as soon as we can find the words to describe such a special few days.
For now, we just want to say thank you to every dancer, chaperone, staff member, parent, and supporter who made the show weekend so magical.
💤 Classes are now on break from Monday the 2nd Feb to Saturday 7th
There’ll be no classes between these dates, but our admin team is still working behind the scenes to help get everyone ready for the new season — so feel free to message us if you need anything or want to share your show highlights!
🎉 We’ll be back in class from Sunday 8th Feb for Show Reflection & Celebration Week, and we can’t wait to relive all the magic with your children.
🧡 Next up in our rehearsal sneak peak series, we have the dancers from the Orange show.
This rehearsal was filled with some very special firsts.
So many toddlers stepping onto the stage for the very first time. First rehearsals. First big spaces. First steps towards their first ever show.
Alongside them were dancers in brand new classes, students who have moved up a level, and children who are new to our school. For many, this was all completely new.
Because of that, this rehearsal was all about encouragement. Helping dancers feel safe, supported, and excited. Making sure the stage felt like a place to enjoy, not something to be nervous about.
At Flame, rehearsals and shows are about having fun, building confidence, and learning how to share a love of dance with an audience.
For these dancers, simply stepping onto the stage is a huge achievement. And we could not be prouder.
I cannot wait to see them shine on show day.
💙 Continuing on in our rehearsal sneak peak series, we have the dancers from the blue show rehearsal.
This rehearsal was full of really strong, purposeful work from the dancers. From the moment they stepped onto the stage, there was a clear sense of focus and intention. They knew what they wanted their dances to look like and were committed to working towards that together.
Across all groups, dancers listened carefully to feedback, took time to reset between runs, and made thoughtful adjustments to spacing, timing, and performance.
You could see them actively thinking about what they were doing, not just dancing through routines, but really engaging with the process.
There was a lovely balance throughout the day.
Moments of deep concentration, followed by moments of laughter, encouragement, and support between friends.
Between runs, dancers checked in with each other, shared quiet reassurance, and celebrated when things felt better than the time before. That sense of camaraderie carried right through the rehearsal, across every class on stage.
What stood out was how much pride they took in their work.
Wanting their routines to look strong. Wanting to improve the details. Wanting to give their best, not just for themselves, but for the group.
It was a lovely balance of hard work and joy. Exactly what rehearsals should feel like.
