Cardiff University Fencing Club

Club photos are this Thursday from 12:10 to 12:20 in the Y Plas in the SU.

Come along with your clean, fresh kit - 10 minutes early!

Photos are not available online and are only viewable and purchasable on site so make sure to bring a form of payment (cash, card, apple/android pay).

Photos are £17 with a special student deal running on the day!

We are holding Give-It-A-Go sessions on the 3rd, 7th, 10th and 14th of October!

All sessions will take place in the Talybont Sports Centre on courts 5 and 6.

Sessions are only £1 each so feel free to come to one or all GIAG sessions!

Beginners attending the sessions must wear some form of long legged sports trousers. No shorts!

Congratulations to our varsity team for putting up a valiant effort against Swansea at Varsity, especially our foilists who got a close score of 41-45 and stopped us getting thrashed too badly.

Guess we’ll have to beat them next year!

Massive congratulations to some of our members who attended the South West BUCS regionals competition in Bath this weekend.

We came away with 4 gold medals and apparently found some nice chocolate cake! 🥇🥇🥇🥇

"Give It A Go" Section for fencing is back to the 2nd semestre!

If you've ever thought of having a special university life in Cardiff with cool and unique sport experience, here is your chance!

Both beginners and experienced fencers are welcomed. Basic moves and rules will be introduced to the participants who have never fenced before.

Exciting news!
Kit loans (of jacket, plastron and glove) are now properly available. Please buy them online (https://www.cardiffstudents.com/activities/sport/fencing/) before coming to a session and we'll be able to sort it out.

Also a reminder that fencers on the beginners course must wear long trousers/leggings and not shorts, as you are now using metal weapons.

We have now reached the end of our 4 GIAG's, and it was great to see so many people giving fencing a go. For those who have decided to join us, welcome!

For our members, we have a facebook group and messenger chat where we will be discussing trainings, extra socials (beyond the bi-weekly pub), club hoodies/merch and more.
