A huge good luck to our Castle 2 Castle runners: Tomorrow is the day you've been training for! 🏰🏅
Tomorrow, you may not realise it - but you could be running alongside someone currently receiving treatment at Velindre - someone like Jane.
Two years ago, Jane was diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time after having been in remission for 23 years. The day before her biopsy results confirming her recurrence, she ran Castle 2 Castle 2024, as she puts it 'not knowing I was running with cancer!'.
Due to her ongoing treatment, Jane was unable to take part last year - but triumphantly, she will be running tomorrow. Jane said: 'The staff at Velindre are amazing, patients cannot feel sad or anxious during treatment because they are such positive smiley people. My family cannot thank everyone enough, for all they did for me and what they continue to do for others. Thank you.' Velindre Cancer Service
If you need that extra bit of inspiration to keep putting one foot in front of the other at tomorrow's run, know that you are part of a special community of runners. We're all there for the same reason - to keep providing support and excellent specialist cancer services to patients in Wales.
