We are incredibly proud of the reputation we have built in and around Cardiff for the quality of our sessions at FAB BEARS.

Football is a male dominated sport but we have created a sports business that represents gender equality at its finest. 60% of our coaches are female. Girls participation is on the rise at FAB BEARS - now over 42%

We’re incredibly excited to have Cole join us—a Welsh professional footballer with 11 years at the Cardiff City Academy. His experience, passion, and energy are already lifting our sessions to another level!

Cole’s journey started right here.

14 years ago, he attended my football classes—before FAB BEARS even existed. I sent him for his very first trial with Cardiff City… and the rest is history.

Now he’s back where it all began—this time as a coach.

Seeing that full-circle moment, and having him now inspire the next generation, is something truly special. I couldn’t be prouder to have him in our team. 🙌

The kids already love him—and it’s easy to see why. His enthusiasm, professionalism, and genuine love for the game shines through in every session.

Why do children wear bibs throughout the session?

At FAB BEARS, all children wear bibs for the duration of the session to help create a strong sense of belonging and teamwork. Each bib features the FAB BEARS logo, so even if a child doesn’t have their own kit, they can still feel part of the team.

Bibs also play an important role during activities, especially when we’re outside at the Rec. They allow coaches to easily identify groups and ensure everyone is in the right team. From a health and safety perspective, this visibility is essential and helps sessions run smoothly and safely.

FAB BEARS NEWS - COACH Q

Coach Q will be taking some time off over the coming weeks to recover from bilateral partial knee replacement surgery, which she is scheduled to undergo tomorrow morning. (Wednesday 15th April)

This procedure has been planned for some time, and I have prepared accordingly by bringing in additional coaches and making many necessary adjustments to ensure sessions continue to run smoothly.

During her absence, Coach Esmé will be stepping into the role of Wellbeing Officer, overseeing your children’s needs. Esmé has been a valued member of our coaching team for several years and knows the children well, so they will be in very safe hands.

Coach Q is looking forward to returning to sessions as soon as she is fully recovered. As you can all imagine I will of course miss my sidekick immensely but I will have her back with us at FAB BEARS in no time even if I have to hire her a mobility scooter!

EASTER CAMP UPDATE!

Our 10am Easter Camp is now FULLY BOOKED! But don’t worry — we still have spaces available in our 12pm session… for now!

Our camps take place at Roath Recreational Ground. Parents are welcome to drop off or stay and watch the action. If the weather decides not to behave, we’ll head over to Willows Sports Hall — we book both venues so nothing stops the camp from going ahead! We will message each morning to tell you where the camp will take place. Fingers crossed for a full week of sun!

Camps are advertised to ages 4–11, but if your little one attends our weekly toddler sessions and is 3½, they’re very welcome to join us too!
(Just a reminder that all children need to be able to take part independently without a parent.)
