January can be financially, socially, and emotionally hard, and I see a lot of people turning that into pressure and self-criticism.
This isnāt advice for everyone. Itās a pause button for people who are already being hard on themselves.
This is a little more direct than I usually am. Iām saying it with you, not at you. Itās what Iām reminding myself of too.

I donāt do this work to be on lists, but itās always good when the human, honest, practical stuff gets noticed and reflected accurately (except for the castle, ha).

I work every day with people whose wiring is wonderfully varied, and many who are neurodivergent. Iāve learnt as much from them and from my own wiring as I have from any textbook.
This is work Iāve been immersed in for a long time. Iāve done this qualification to recognise it. Another step in my commitment to working from the āinside outā, not the āoutside inā.
My job is to understand each personās lived experience and how it interacts with their wiring. My role as a coach is to keep learning, keep growing and create spaces where people feel met as they are, not who they think they should be.

This Menās Health Awareness Month, hereās a reminder worth keeping:
The expectations on the left donāt help men (or anyone around them). They just make their real selves smaller.
Being human isnāt the opposite of being strong.
It šŖš“ strength.
Vulnerability is a strength too. Being honest is strength in action, but first you have to be honest with yourself.
Choose humanity, not performance.
Be human. š

Some days, life just feels⦠a lot.
Pressure. Noise. Expectation.
And when that happens, I remind myself that good mental health isnāt a constant; itās something we keep nurturing, quietly, in our own ways.
These are a few of the things that help me find clarity and calm when the world feels a little crazy.
