We’re incredibly proud to be sponsoring Joe Malfatti for the 2026/27 season with Cardiff Fire.

We've known Joe from a very young age and had the privilege of working with him since his U10 days. Watching him grow from a young player learning and developing his game, into the player and person he is today.

Over the years, Joe has continued to work with us through the Xtreme Edges Elite program, always looking for those extra details, refining his skills, challenging himself and continuing to develop his game.

But Joe’s impact at XE goes far beyond his own development.

For our younger players, Joe is a genuine example of the pathway in front of them. Many of them are now starting their hockey journey on the same ice, working on the same fundamentals and dreaming about where the game might take them.

When they see Joe training at XE, they’re not just watching a senior player. They’re seeing someone who was once exactly where they are now.

Someone who started young, kept learning, kept working and never stopped wanting to improve.

The way Joe carries himself around our younger players matters too. He gives them someone within the XE family to look up to someone approachable, hardworking and committed to his development, who shows them that becoming a better player is about far more than what you can do with a puck.

That’s the kind of role model we want our young players to have around them.

To have worked with Joe as a U10, to continue working with him today through our Elite program, and now to be able to support him as his player sponsor with Cardiff Fire is something we’re incredibly proud of.

Joe’s journey is his own, but we hope seeing it, inspires the next generation of XE players to keep chasing theirs.

FROM LEARN TO PLAY… TO SENIOR HOCKEY. 🏒

Some moments mean a little bit more.

Last weekend in Romford, Bodhi James scored his first senior goal for the Cardiff Fire in NIHL1 another fantastic milestone in a journey that started many years ago with Xtreme Edges.

Bodhi was once one of those young players stepping onto the ice in our Learn to Play programme, learning the basics, developing his skills and beginning to fall in love with the game.

We watched him progress from those first sessions, into junior hockey and through the age groups and now we get to watch him step onto the ice as a senior hockey player.

That is incredibly special for us.

Xtreme Edges has always been about more than teaching children how to skate or shoot a puck. It's about giving young players a place to start their journey, helping them develop, and hopefully watching them go on to achieve things they once dreamed about.

Bodhi is another member of the Xtreme Edges alumni showing the next generation of Learn to Play players where those first few steps on the ice can eventually lead.

A massive congratulations to Ethan Lock, who tonight became the first Xtreme Edges Alumni to play for The Cardiff Devils, taking to the ice in pre-season.

An incredibly proud moment for Ethan, his family, and everyone at Xtreme Edges who has been fortunate enough to be a small part of his journey.

Ethan is proof of what can happen when talent is matched with hard work, determination and the right attitude.

From developing through Xtreme Edges to stepping onto the ice with the Cardiff Devils — history has been made.

Tonight is going to be a very special night for Xtreme Edges.
A moment that represents far more than what happens on the ice.

It represents years of hard work.
Years of early mornings and late nights.
Thousands of hours on the ice.
Mistakes, setbacks, sacrifices and lessons learned along the way.

But most importantly, it represents what we have always believed at Xtreme Edges:

Talent can open doors, but attitude, work ethic and determination are what take you through them.

We constantly tell our players to work hard when nobody is watching.
Be coachable.
Be a good teammate.
Stay humble.
Keep turning up.
And never allow a setback to decide where your journey ends.

Tonight, we get to see exactly where that mindset can lead.

For every young player who has ever pulled on an Xtreme Edges jersey, stepped onto the ice nervous for their first session, struggled with a new skill or wondered whether their dream was possible…

This one is for you.

History isn't made overnight.

🏒 XTREME EDGES HISTORY! 🇬🇧

This week marks a truly special moment in the history of Xtreme Edges.

A huge congratulations to Theo Hillman, who has become the first player to complete the Xtreme Edges Learn To Play programme and go on to be selected for the Great Britain National Programme. 🇬🇧👏

Theo’s journey is exactly what Xtreme Edges was created for.

A player of very few words but immense determination, Theo first joined our Learn To Play programme while he was still balancing ice hockey with football. It didn’t take long for him to fall in love with the game, and once he made the decision to focus solely on hockey, his development accelerated year after year.

Theo has never been the loudest player in the room. Instead, he has let his actions do the talking. His dedication, consistency and willingness to learn have seen him progress from taking his very first strides on the ice to earning the honour of representing Great Britain.

For every young player currently in our Learn To Play programme, Theo is proof that there is no shortcut to success. With hard work, commitment, patience and the right attitude, incredible opportunities can follow.

Everyone at Xtreme Edges is immensely proud of what Theo has achieved. Not only has he reached a fantastic milestone personally, but he has also become part of Xtreme Edges history by showing exactly what is possible through our player development pathway.

🏒 GB FUTURES CALL-UP! 🇬🇧

A huge congratulations to Ashton Buckley on his selection for the Great Britain Ice Hockey Futures U16 Team! 👏🇬🇧

Ashton’s journey is one we’re incredibly proud of. From learning to skate at a young age under the guidance of Head Coach Sam Motton, he became one of the very first players to develop through the Xtreme Edges programme.

His dedication, work ethic and commitment to improving every day have taken him from those early skating sessions to representing Great Britain, and his journey is only just beginning.

This season, Ashton embarks on an exciting new chapter as he heads to Epic Hockey Academy in Komoka, Ontario, after signing with their 18U AAA Prep Team for the 2026/27 season. 🇨🇦

More importantly, Ashton has become a fantastic role model for the next generation of players coming through Xtreme Edges. He shows that hard work, commitment and a great attitude are the foundations of success. Talent will open doors, but it’s your character and willingness to improve every day that keep them open.

Everyone at Xtreme Edges is incredibly proud to have played a small part in your development, and we know you’ll continue to represent yourself, your family and British hockey with pride.
