Today is 133 days since my transplant. Went to the Freeman today and received some amazing news . I had a bonemarrow biopsy a couple of weeks ago and it shows my donors cells are now making 100% of my blood. Which is the best result I could get . So no need to have top ups of blood or platlets . Things are slowly improving hair is beginning to grow again, trying to increase how far I can walk. Fatigue is still the biggest thing I struggle with. having a shower then needing a nap is normal as recovery takes up to a year and although I want to get better faster I am just going to have to except its a long process. The next thing i still am struggling with is food but again things are slowly beginning to taste like they use to and not like im sucking on a bunch of metal keys . Life has changed alot since my diagnosis but if it hadnt been for my donor signing up to Anthony Nolan it would be a totally different post .
If your thinking of signing up please do .you could be a stranger that saves someone's life ######

Hi all it's Barry just to let you know kate had her transplant yesterday her day Zero her chance to live again . She is very poorly but that is to be expected she is not well enough to answer any messages but as soon as she is she will answer back .
Without the stranger that signed up to the Anthony Nolan non of this would have been possible and there would have only been one outcome. so to that stranger who donated their stem cells you've saved my wife's life and no matter how I say thank you it just dosnt feel enough. But at the minute that's all I can say so thank you ###x
