🕰️📚 A Fantastic Morning with Historian Tony!

Today we enjoyed our fantastic monthly visit from Tony, our brilliant historian 🤩✨
What a wealth of knowledge he is!

He brought along old coins 🪙 and we had great fun using our magnifying glass 🔍 to take a closer look.
We chatted about the cost of b**r back in the day 🍺😄 and explored photos of old Carlisle 🖼️ — sparking memories, stories and plenty of smiles.

It truly was a wonderful morning to reminisce together 💛✨

🧠 Wordy Thursday at Greenlane!

We’ve got our brain boxes buzzing this morning 🤓💡
Today’s word was INTERCOMMUNICATION… wowza, what a mouthful! 😅🗣️

Our residents managed to find an astounding 127 words hidden inside it! 🎉👏
So much thinking, chatting and communicating was done — the table was full of teamwork and giggles 💬💛

We then moved on to our beloved Daily Sparkle ✨
Always full of points of interest!
From the west coast of Scotland 🏴🌊 and childhood holidays, to Humphrey Bogart 🎬, sneaky childhood ci******es 🚬 (and how it’s definitely frowned upon now!), all the way to Alex Ferguson and football memories ⚽️🔥

A morning full of stories, smiles and shared memories 💛😊

Grandparents Day at Greenlane 👵🧓💐

What a beautiful morning of togetherness 💛✨
We gathered with cups of tea ☕ and coffee ☕️, shared delicious cake 🍰, and filled the room with laughter and stories.

Everyone enjoyed making lovely lavender bags 💜🌿 — the smell was heavenly! We finished with a fun quiz 🧠🎉 and plenty of heartfelt chats about our wonderful grandchildren and great‑grandchildren 👶👧🧒💞

A truly lovely morning spent celebrating family, memories, and connection 🤗💛

🌟⚽ Carlisle United Community Team Visit! ⚽🌟
We had the lovely Ryan from the Carlisle United Community Team visit us today, and what a fantastic afternoon it was!

He brought so much energy, laughter and encouragement as residents joined in with:
✨ Chair‑based exercises
✨ Singing and music
✨ Hoopla
✨ Throwing & catching games
✨ Ball‑in‑the‑net challenges

Ryan made sure everyone felt included, chatting to each resident and cheering them on. The smiles said it all — our residents absolutely loved it!

We’re thrilled to say this was a taster session, and because it was such a hit, Ryan will be joining us every week moving forward.

Thank you Ryan and Carlisle United Community Team for bringing joy, movement and community spirit into Greenlane today 💛💙

🎉🎂 Birthday Celebrations at Greenlane! 🎂🎉

Today we had the absolute pleasure of celebrating one of our wonderful residents turning 86 — and what a lovely morning it’s been! 💛✨

There were big smiles, warm wishes, plenty of chatter, and of course… delicious birthday cake! 🍰😄
Our birthday gentleman enjoyed every moment, surrounded by staff and residents who were all excited to share in his special day.

💐✨ Here’s to 86 years of memories, laughter, and kindness — and many more to come.
Happy Birthday from all of us at Greenlane! 💛🎉

🌞 Lovely gentle start to the week 🌞

We enjoyed a peaceful walk down the road, admiring the beautiful Autumnal sunshine 🍁✨
There were plenty of giggles and memories shared — especially chats about playing conkers as kids and soaking them in vinegar to make them extra tough 🌰😄

🧩 Back at home, we carried on with our jigsaw — taking turns, helping each other and being a proper little team 🤝💛

🎹 Then we had a ti**le on the piano, playing requests for our friends and filling the room with music 🎶😊

📖 And of course… there was a little quiet time for the Daily Sparkle — a gentle moment to sit back, read, reminisce and enjoy 💫

Active Tuesday 🎶💪

What a cracking day we’ve had at Greenlane! 😄✨
We kicked things off with the beats on — a bit of oldy goldie rock ’n’ roll to get everyone moving 🎸🕺💃

Residents got stuck into some brilliant hand–eye coordination fun, threading a hoop along a piece of string 🎯🙌 Lots of concentration… and even more giggles!

Then it was onto ping pong balls into egg cups 🥚🏓 — proper team building, cheering each other on, and plenty of laughter echoing around the room 🤣💛

We wrapped up with hoopla, and wow… several residents were on fire today! 🎯🔥 I’m still not sure who was sweating more by the end — the residents or us staff! 😅💦

Another joyful, energetic morning with our wonderful bunch 💛🌟

🎉🧠 Today at Greenlane!
We had a brilliant morning together enjoying a mix of fun and nostalgia. We started with the Daily Sparkle, which sparked chats about Ken Dodd, old wooden pegs and school milk — plenty of laughter and memories shared 💬💛

We then tested our brains with a general knowledge quiz, followed by a few lively rounds of Hangman — lots of teamwork, guessing and cheering each other on!

A busy, joyful morning full of conversation, connection and smiles 😊✨
