Great winner with Conquer the Breeze at Hexham today ,well done Adam and team.

Absolutely delighted to see Halfway House Lad winning at Hexham ,Maurice and I bought him at the sales at Ascot and he has grown into a lovely horse with a great future we hope he continues to give the lads and Jimmy some great days out.

Well 6 weeks into retirement and our garden is looking great !!! Plenty of vacancies in our cottages if you're fancying a break in the countryside.

Another memory for us this weekend, Maurice rode Quick Reply to win The 1972 Scottish Grand National, aged 21

We have both had a lovely day at Hexham races ,many thanks to the Racecourse for inviting us both to lunch and asking us to choose the best turned out in both divisions of the race named for us both ,and also to present the winning owners with their prizes.We will be visiting the course again and look forward to seeing old friends for a catchup.

The BBC Grand National 1979 - Rubstic (closing stages) ....Rubstic wins for Scotland with Maurice Barnes up...but the race was marred by tragedy....
