🏆 Club knockout competitions begin this weekend 🏆

Saturday has both the ladies pairs round 1 and gents pairs round 1.
Sunday is the ladies singles round 1, and gents restricted singles round 1.

Anyone not able to play should contact the opponent and inform the office asap.

Great win for the lads !

Cumbria Indoor Bowls Club hosted the Ambassador Cruise Line World Pairs qualifier yesterday and saw the local pair of Stuart Airey and Martin Rice claim the honours.

Stuart, a former World Singles quarter finalist, and Martyn who was at Potters Resorts in the World Singles last year made it through against a strong field of 39 other pairs.

They beat Ryan Brady & his partner, Kenny Bald & Tommy Coombe; Glenn Blair & Chris Brock; Gavin Johnston & John Meikle; and then Mark Higgins & Gary R Smith in the final.

Thanks again to all those involved at Cumbria for their help over the weekend.

Special thanks to the umpires and all of the staff at the club.

Thanks also to Gillian Hinsley for organising yesterday and running a good set of qualifiers this weekend.

Of course we are always grateful to Richie and the team from WRONG BIAS - Bowls Podcast for covering the event and making sure that the world can see how good the qualifying events are.

Richie and the team will be covering Hartlepool next weekend with another set of World Singles and Pairs events.

Saturday 24th October 12.00noon at Hartlepool IBC.

Availability sheet on notice board at the club. 24 players in the team, only 14 names currently on the sheet. Get your name down quickly to ensure that the county can fulfil this fixture.

3 Cumbria IBC players in the Top 28 in the Race for Tour Card Places

The PBA UK Ranking Lists have been updated following the completion of the last of the Ambassador Cruise Line Scottish International Open qualifiers.

The Ranking Lists have been posted on the PBA page of the World Bowls Tour website (theworldbowlstour.org/pba).

Martin Puckett is the PBA UK number one player just edging past Sam Tolchard who this season is part of the WBT Top 16.

The Race for the Tourcard is on with the World Singles qualifiers to come. We will try and give a weekly update on this list after each of the sets of World Singles qualifiers.

Jacqui Henderson has moved to number one on the Ladies Ranking list with the Ladies Matchplay and World Singles qualifiers still ahead.

This weekend sees the World Singles and World Pairs qualifiers at Abbeyview & Headwell and Bromley and White Oak.
