Another fantastic weekend of competition for Pro-Edge Carluke!

Last weekend, three of our competitors made the journey down to Warwick to represent the club at the T-UK Open British Championships, returning home with an impressive five medals!

🥇 2 Gold
🥈 2 Silver
🥉 1 Bronze

We are incredibly proud of all three competitors for their performances throughout the championships. Each of them demonstrated the hard work, determination and dedication they continue to put into their training, and it was fantastic to see their efforts rewarded.

While the medals are a brilliant achievement, we are equally proud of the way our students continue to represent Pro-Edge Carluke, gaining valuable competition experience and demonstrating great sportsmanship both on and off the mats.

A huge thank you to David for coaching and supporting our competitors. We would also like to thank all of our families who made the journey to Warwick. Travelling to competitions requires a great deal of time and commitment, and your continued encouragement and support play such an important part in giving our students these opportunities.

Finally, a big thank you to Master Archer for organising the championships and providing another fantastic opportunity for competitors to come together and showcase their skills.

🥋🏆 𝗠𝗘𝗗𝗔𝗟𝗦, 𝗠𝗨𝗗 & 𝗠𝗘𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗜𝗘𝗦 – 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗔 𝗪𝗘𝗘𝗞𝗘𝗡𝗗 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗣𝗥𝗢-𝗘𝗗𝗚𝗘 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗟𝗨𝗞𝗘!

Last weekend was another fantastic one for Pro-Edge Carluke, with our students, coaches and families taking part in two very different events that perfectly demonstrated what our club is all about – hard work, determination, teamwork and supporting one another!

🏆 SATURDAY – ICON CHAMPIONSHIPS

On Saturday, six of our competitors travelled to Dunfermline to represent Pro-Edge Carluke at the ICON Championships, returning home with an incredible 12 medals!

🥇 4 Gold
🥈 4 Silver
🥉 4 Bronze

We are incredibly proud of all six competitors, not only for their fantastic results but also for the effort, determination and sportsmanship they demonstrated throughout the day.

We would also like to thank the ICON Taekwon-Do organisers, officials and umpires for putting together a great event.

🏃‍♂️ SUNDAY – MUD MADNESS

On Sunday, we swapped the competition mats for mud, obstacles and plenty of laughter as 20 members of Team Pro-Edge Carluke took on Mud Madness!

This was a fantastic opportunity for everyone to spend time together outside of their usual training environment, build friendships and work together to overcome the challenges along the course.

There was certainly no shortage of mud, laughter or encouragement, with everyone supporting one another from start to finish!

It was brilliant to see everyone getting involved, challenging themselves and helping each other along the way. Events like these provide opportunities to develop confidence, resilience and friendships beyond the training hall.

A huge thank you to South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture for organising such a fantastic event and giving our team the opportunity to take part.

💙 A WEEKEND TO BE PROUD OF!

What made last weekend particularly special was seeing our club come together in two completely different environments.

Whether it was stepping onto the competition mats, tackling a muddy obstacle or encouraging a teammate, our students demonstrated the same determination, resilience and team spirit that we work to develop every week at Pro-Edge Carluke.

A massive thank you to all of our parents and families for your continued support, whether that meant travelling to competitions, getting covered in mud or cheering everyone on from the sidelines. We couldn’t provide these experiences without you!

🏆🥋 𝗡𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗡 𝗖𝗨𝗣 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 🥋🏆

What a fantastic day for Pro-Edge Carluke at the Northern Cup in Aberdeen!

We travelled north with a team of 7 competitors, who represented the club brilliantly throughout the day and returned home with an incredible 12 medals:

🥇 7 Gold
🥈 2 Silver
🥉 3 Bronze

While we are extremely proud of the results, we were even prouder of the way our team represented Pro-Edge Carluke both on and off the competition floor.

One standout achievement came from David, who had an exceptional competition, finishing the day with three gold medals. 🥇🥇🥇

What made the day particularly special, however, was the support within our team. Even after their own events were finished, every one of our competitors stayed to support David, cheering him on right through to the end. That team spirit and willingness to support one another is exactly what we want Pro-Edge Carluke to represent.

A huge thank you also goes to all of our parents and families who made the journey to Aberdeen. Competition days can be long, and your continued encouragement and support for our competitors never goes unnoticed.

🥋 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀! 🥋

It’s been a very busy few weeks at Pro-Edge Carluke, but we couldn’t let our most recent grading pass without celebrating the achievements of everyone who took part.

A fantastic 31 students stepped onto the floor to demonstrate the progress they’ve made in their training – and we’re delighted to say that all 31 were successful! 👏

A special congratulations goes to Abigail, Ryder, Ivy, Owen, Halle, Adam, Samuel, Lexi, Kayden, Kaylin and Caragh, who completed their very first grading. Taking that first step can be daunting, and every one of them should be incredibly proud.

We were particularly impressed by the confidence shown by Laura, David H and Andrew during their first grading. The work they had put into preparing was clear to see, and they should be extremely proud of their performances.

It was also an important milestone for David F, who successfully completed his final coloured belt grading, bringing him another step closer to black belt.

We were also delighted to present Most Improved Awards to:

Very well deserved! 👏

Our grading also brought an unexpected challenge when we experienced a power cut! Despite this, everyone adapted brilliantly and carried on, with some students even completing parts of their grading in the dark – certainly making this one we won’t forget anytime soon!

A huge thank you to John Devine for doing everything he could to try to get the issue resolved and, of course, to Master Blair for examining our students and for his continued time and support.

As coaches, we were proud not only of everyone who graded, but also of the support shown throughout the day. Seeing students encouraging one another, celebrating each other’s successes and supporting their teammates is just as important to us as the achievements on the grading floor.

31 students, 31 successful gradings and another fantastic display of hard work, confidence and progress from Team Pro-Edge Carluke.

What a fantastic morning we had at today’s Colour Run!

A massive well done to all 23 members of the Pro-Edge Carluke team who came along to take part. It was great to see so many of our members and their families getting involved, having fun and supporting one another throughout the event.

Congratulations to Guy Martin and David Ferguson, who were the first two across the finish line, and a special well done to Ruairi and Reggi, who were our youngest participants today! 👏

By the end, everyone had earned their medal and was covered head to toe in colour! 🌈🏅

Thank you to everyone who joined us today and to the organisers for putting on such a brilliant event. Days like these are a great reminder that Pro-Edge Carluke is about much more than just what happens on the mats.

We hope everyone had as much fun as we did!

“𝗛𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗵𝗲’𝗱 𝗡𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗥 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝘄𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗮 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸…” 🥋

Fast forward 18 months…

✅ Trains at every session available.
✅ Has completed 5 gradings.
✅ Competes regularly.
✅ Has won medals.
✅ Is one of the first to put his hand up to demonstrate in front of the whole class.

And it all started because a friend invited him to a 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗕𝘂𝗱𝗱𝘆 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁.

When Finn first joined us at 9 years old, he wasn’t the most confident child. He gave Taekwon-Do a try but made it very clear…
“𝙄’𝙢 𝙣𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙬𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙖 𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙠!”

His mum never imagined he’d stick with it.

Now she says:

This is why we do what we do.

At Pro-Edge Carluke, we don’t just teach children how to kick and punch.

🚨 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝟲 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝘀, 𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗻’𝘁 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆

He didn’t kick. He didn’t punch. He didn’t speak to us. He just sat at the side of the mat… and watched.

He was only 4 years old. Shy, anxious and reluctant to leave his parent.

Every week, we invited him to join us. We offered him equipment. We encouraged him. We celebrated the tiniest steps.

But he wasn’t ready.

𝗦𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝗺 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲.

Then one day, something changed.

He walked into class… and instead of sitting at the side, he went straight over to his spot at the start of the class.

And he joined in. 🥋

Fast forward almost a year…

The little boy who once wouldn’t step onto the mat is now 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝘁𝘁𝘆.

🥋 He’s completed 3 gradings.
🏅 He’s won 3 medals.
🌟 He’s made new friends.
💪 He’s grown in confidence, resilience and independence.
🔥 And right now, he’s preparing for his next grading.

But perhaps the biggest transformation of all?

𝗛𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗯𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴.

And his journey didn’t just inspire him…

𝗛𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝘂𝗺, 𝗱𝗮𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘂𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗼

This is why Little Heroes is about so much more than learning to kick and punch.

We don’t expect every child to walk through our doors bursting with confidence.

Some are shy. Some are nervous. Some need a little encouragement. And some just need more time
