Club match at Loughor estuary this Sunday 6th September.
Fishing is from 12 until 4pm. Meet at 11 am in the car park near Owens transport.
£5 optional pool for the heaviest in size fish caught. Guests welcome to come along.
The venue has been fishing well for bass with Flounder and mullet likely.

Species rover 23-8-26
This annual event took place yesterday. Fishing was from 8am until 8pm and anglers could chose to fish anywhere in Wales. This was a straight forward, most species caught competition and anglers photographed and recorded their fish and submitted them to the club whatsap group.
Quite a few anglers headed for the Haven with a few fishing Hobbs and a few over the other side at Milford. Mal Ruff the minis specialist went off to his secret marks out West and Chris Rowlands opted for Swansea marina.
Chris Pearce headed down to Stackpole before moving to the Haven and was the only angler to get a mackeral and a Huss amongst his 12 species haul.
Minis expert Mal Scruff had a rare Connemara Cling fish amongst his 12 fish haul and also included a leopard spotted goby, a lesser Weaver and a Goldsinny wrasse.
Chris and Mal shared first place taking cash and Tackle prizes donated by Bennett’s Bait and Tackle.
Steve Tucker finished third fishing off Hobbs adding 10 species. This included a nice bass of around 3Ib taken on a live Pouting. He also caught a Goldsinney wrasse amongst his minis.
Simon Torr started at Amroth where he caught bass and dogfish before moving to the Haven and finished 4th on 9 species.
Chris Rowlands added a Goldsinney and a sand smelt a. Ongst his fish from Swansea docks.
Derek Evans stayed close to home fishing the local estuary a caught a 65 cm Bass.
The prizes will be presented at the club's meeting which is the Wednesday 26th August 8pm in the Quay Centre.
Trophy's will be awarded at the AGM later in the year.

Species rover this Sunday. Free entry for all club members

Species Rover match
Reminder this Sunday 23rd August we have a species rover match.
Boundaries are anywhere in Wales.
Fishing times are between 8am and 8pm.
A Codeword will go out at 8am.
All species caught need to be photographed with the match card showing the Codeword and fed into the whattsap group.
All fish must be named on the card and each fish photographed individually. If unsure of species a question mark can be added. A clear photo will allow the fish to be identified later.
All photos need to be in by 8.15pm on the night.
Most anglers have already had a card if you need one we will put some in Bennetts bait and tackle for collection before the weekend.
There is a £30 prize being put up by the club and we have a 2nd and 3rd prize of rig wallets, bait containers and Tackle boxes generously donated by Bennett’s Bait and Tackle.
The match is free to enter for all club members. There will also be a small trophy to be presented at the AGM.

Match report Llangennith 16-8-26.
12 members turned up plus one guest for this match fished over low water. Hopes were high for a few nice Golden greys but it turned out tough going due to the thousands of small schoolies shredding the maddies the second they hit the water.
The match was based on heaviest fish, so even though there weren't many caught, hounds made up the main places.
In joint first place was Des Thomas and guest angler Mike Mather who both caught a hound of 4Ib 3oz, 2nd was Steve Penhallurick with a hound of 4Ib and third Steve Tucker with a 3Ib 4oz fish.
There were a few small mullet caught, Simon Torr caught one just over the pound mark along with a decent Flounder and Jason Charles caught one of 11 oz. Chris Pearce caught an under sized Small eyed ray and Neil Owen added a nice Sole to the species list.
The clubs next match next weekend is the annual species rover.

Carmarthen Sea Anglers are fishing Llangennith this Sunday 16th August 2pm til 7pm. Low water is about 3.45pm and quite a, large tide.
Meet at Hill end car park at around 12.45 for a 1pm walk off.
Should be Golden Grey Mullet around this time of year along with flatties, bass and still a chance of a hound. £5 optional pool for the heaviest in size fish caught. Doggies are excluded unless there's no other fish caught.
Potential new members are welcome to vome along and fish with us.
This venue does require a bit of a walk along the beach to get away from the bathers and surfers.

Sunday 23rd August Species Hunt Rover 8am to 8pm. Anywhere within Wales. £30 plus Trophy for the winner.

This one is a bit late but here are the photos of our 2025/26 league presentations. These were presented at our AGM at the end of April, in the Boars Head Carmarthen. A great night was had by all, and special thanks to our club secretary Steve Penhallurick for organising the event.

We would also like to thank those who provided prizes for the raffle, including Bennett’s Bait and Tackle.

We would also like to extend a special thanks to David Rees, who has provided excellent service to the club as chairman, and welcome his replacement Matthew Evans, who has already proved to be a valuable asset to the committee.

Report Ginst Point 26-7-26.
12 members turned up for this match fished from 9am until 2pm with low water around 11am.
Half the anglers took the long trudge up towards the buoys whilst the other half walked straight from the car park.
Anglers that made the long walk found w**d a problem from the off. They did manage one or two small hounds and schoolies amongst the w**d. The w**d died off over slack water but unfortunately so did the fishing! Once the tide started running a few more fish turned up but unfortunately the w**d came back with a vengance and it became virtually unfishable.
Meanwhile the anglers that stayed close to the car park had far less problems with the w**d and quite a few hounds were caught with a few big ones between them. Des Thomas managed 8 or 9 hounds with his biggest of 7Ib 13oz taking the spoils. Just an ounce behind Chris Rowlands best fish went 7Ib 12oz, Chris Pearce moved down from the far end and got in on the act in the last hour with a couple of 7 pounders his best going 7Ib 5oz for third and Steve Tucker was 4th with 5Ib 13oz fish from the far end. Gary Wenz added a, sizeable bass and there were a lot of schoolies caught. Towards the end of the match the w**d got far worse. Considering the w**d problems we had a good match with a lot of nice fish caught.
The clubs monthly meeting is next Weds 29th July 8pm in the Quay Centre Carmarthen.

Report Burryport North channel 10-7-26
This was a Friday evening match fished from 7.30 until 11.30 pm with low, water around 9.30.
The blistering hot weather allowed the anglers to dispense with the waders and paddle across the stream in shorts.
On a lovely evening the fishing was a bit slow and patchy and Smoothounds were the only fish caught. Most anglers managed to catch a few though and one or two anglers caught well, notably Mal Ruff with 10 fish and Des Thomas with nine, although they were mostly small.
This match was based on heaviest fish and Steve Penhallurick had two nice fish on his first two casts with his best fish going 8Ib 13oz for the win. Des Thomas best fish went 6Ib 6oz for 2nd. Chris Pearce caught a fish of 5Ib 7oz for third and Matthew Evans was 4th with a 5Ib1oz fish.
