Bronwydd Short Mat Bowls Club

This is a reminder that Bronwydd SMBC will open its doors following a summer break for the 2026- 27 winter season on Tuesday 1st of September for a roll up followed by an AGM 3rd Sepember. All new and old members welcome to Join.

Last night Bronwydd SMBC held an end of year target mat competition where everybody enjoyed the evening. The winner was Daniel Jones and the B***y Prize Winner was Meirion Evans.

The club is now closed for a well deserved summer break and will re-open on 1st of September for a roll up followed by an AGM on the 3rd of September.

We would like to wish all fellow bowlers and their family's a happy, healthy and enjoyable summer.

Last night Bronwydd SMBC held its first friendly of the season against Bancyfelin.

The night consisted of 3 lots of triples and fours game witch did not disappoint and all played in the correct spirit.

The club would like to say thank you to Bancyfelin for an enjoyable nights bowling and hope you all got home safely.

The club will be open every Thursday night throughout June and July and in August we'll be taking a deserved break so if you are interest in joining this fantastic team then come along to the 'come and give it a go' sessions. You never know you might like it.

Last night Bronwydd SMBC held its annual interclub Competition finals night where the night did not disappoint. The night consisted of a singles final and a pairs final and both finals where of great quality with great heads on display. The results of both finals are as folows:

After the night everyone enjoyed tea/ Coffee and a little buffet to finish the night.

The club will be open on Tuesday and Thursday evenings until the of the month and then playing every Thursday in June and July and then the club will close for August for a well earned break so if anyone is interest in the come and give a go sessions then why not come along to see what it is all about.

Good luck to Bronwydd SMBC Superstar Sylvia Jones and to rest of her fellow bowlers in the Welsh A Series trial in Llandrindod Wells today. Have fun and enjoy the experience.

This week Bronwydd SMBC had its final 2 games of the season against Maelog Rebels and then to finish off a derby match against Llanpumsaint with the club winning both games 8-2 and 6-4 which means we have survived the drop and are staying in Division 1.

Both games where of great quality with lots of great bowls on display and with lots of strong heads, played in the correct spirit.

We would like to say thank you to the two clubs for two very enjoyable evening of bowls and wish you a very healthly and peaceful summer.

The club will be open to the end of May 2 nights a week ( Tuesday/ Thursday) and then throughout the summer 1 night so if anyone is interested in our give it a go sessions then come along and try it out.

Charity triples event held in carmarthen today with numeris players competing from the club. Good luck to all.

Last night Bronwydd had a home league game against Tywi where the home team won 8-2.

All 4 games where of great quality with some strong heads on display which could've have gone either way and all played in the correct spirit.

We would like to say thank you to Tywi for a great evening of bowls and would like to wish you every success in the outdoor season.

The club has a number of members playing in the charity triples competition event this Sunday so good luck to all.
