This week’s theme is sports week and what better theme to describe our next Meet the Teacher spotlight.

Ella absolutely loves sports week and is an avid footballer in her downtime but also a lover of all things sports and sportiness! ⚽️

From scoring the goals as a striker on her team to jumping in the pool and teaching our little superstars those all important life skills, Ella absolutely loves to see those smiles on their faces! 🏊

When not in the pool or on the football pitch, Ella knows the importance of that athlete diet and is regularly known to be sat tucking into a bowl of pasta to fuel herself up ready for another fun day in the pool!

These friendly faces will be in the water at Swim! Castleford all summer long ☀️💦

🌟 Star of the Month 🌟

Huge congratulations to our Star of the Month for June, Nicola!

Nicola is our resident swim! baby teacher at Castleford and delivers lessons across Tuesday to Friday mornings each week.

Nicola brings a warmth and friendly face to all of our buddies and little ones in the water each week whilst also using her valuable years of experience to help little ones progress in the water whilst having fun and developing their water confidence

We are so lucky to have Nicola on our team and I am sure everyone will join us in congratulating her 🎉

Meet the Team!

Maddie is our Sunday PM permanent teacher and has been teaching at Swim! Castleford since our opening day back in 2023.

Maddie absolutely loves themed lessons at swim! and this week sees her favourite theme of “pirates” come to life! Maddie has lots of fun in store for you with her lessons! 🏴‍☠️🪎⚓️

Alongside delivering awesome lessons Maddie is currently working hard away in the background on her healthcare degree 👩‍⚕️ and will soon be graduating university which we’re all so proud of her for completing! 🎓

Maddie absolutely loves her music and has been to see some of the biggest names in the world live from Sabrina Carpenter, Harry Styles and even Taylor Swift!!! 🎶🎤

World Cup fever is in full swing a Swim! Castleford and the team can’t wait for tonight’s England match ⚽️

🏴‍☠️ Ahoy, mateys! Pirate Week has arrived at swim! 🏊‍♀️

Our swimmers will be setting sail on a fun-filled adventure in the pool, with plenty of pirate-themed challenges along the way! From hunting for hidden treasure and following secret maps to finding X marks the spot and practising their swashbuckling skills with pirate swords, there’s excitement around every corner.

Get ready for a week of splashes, smiles, and pirate adventures! ☠️💎🗺️

Today, we’re celebrating all the amazing dads, grandads, stepdads, and father figures who make a splash in their little ones’ lives every day.

Thank you for the early morning swims, the poolside encouragement, the cuddles after lessons, and for being there every step of your child’s swimming journey. Your support, patience, and dedication help build confidence both in and out of the water.

Hello Kane 👋🏻our Saturday teacher and one of our main Ops Assistants at Swim! Castleford.

Kane absolutely loves this weeks theme of Water Safety Week due to the important message we want to get across to all swimmers. Kanes top tip:

“Water can hide hazards, clear water doesn’t always mean safe water. Rocks, sudden drop offs, weeds and strong currents can be hidden beneath the surface and cause injuries or casualties”

Alongside his passion for water safety, Kane has been in the Air Cadets for 5yrs and has progressed up to the rank of Sargent! He is also a proud volunteer of “Castleford Community Food Pantry” and regular gives up his Friday morning and Sunday evenings spare time volunteering and providing a service to his local community which he is proud to be from! 👏🏻🎊
