A late report from the dressage front, but the eventing boys have been keeping things far more exciting lately! 😂

We headed to the Regionals with Biscuit at Medium, and she showed some really lovely work. However, being the woman she is, she anticipated the canter a little too much after the walk and got mightily annoyed with me when I told her to wait… cue a few madam moments in the canter for the judges to enjoy! 🙈 Whoops! She still looked beautiful though, and we managed to get a lovely picture. ☺️

Sylvester was 3rd in the PSG at Petplan. Sadly, he was a little spooky at the start, which cost us some easy marks, but hey ho—that’s how it goes. It’s very easy to feel like you don’t belong at that level, but just getting in the arena and giving it your best is a privilege in itself. 🥰🦄

As always, I’m just grateful for these two and the effort they both give me. Loving the ponies and appreciating their efforts is what it’s all about. 🤩❤️

Greenwood Photography thanks for the lovely pictures ❤️
Dengie Horse Feeds - Steph Wright for helping us keep the pony’s fed well 🥰

A review of the last two events for the wonderful boys! 💥

We kicked things off at Aston-le-Walls, where Shy tackled a confidence-building Novice run. He may have been a little steady, but he answered some challenging questions brilliantly and came home full of confidence.
Buddy then put in a strong Intermediate performance to finish 4th. 👏

Today at Burgham, both horses put their best hoof forward! 🏆

✨ Shy produced a superb double clear to win his Novice section, building perfectly on last weekend’s confidence.
✨ Buddy followed suit also with a fantastic double clear to take the win in his Intermediate section.

Both horses are fairly green at their level so it’s great to see the hard work and training is paying off.

Massive thanks to both Aston le Walls and Burgham Horse Trials for all the hard work that went into the going—it was hugely appreciated and made for excellent conditions. And not forgetting the support team that makes these days possible and enjoyable.

A lovely trip out to Aike with beautiful Biscuit for the Mediums. ❤️

She was an absolute superstar today and really let me ride her. We came away with a PB at this level, scoring 71% in her first test and 68% in the second. But if I’m honest, the scores aren’t what mean the most to me. The way she’s now letting me in at shows, trusting me and relaxing is worth so much more than wins or rosettes.

It would have been so easy to give up on her. She’s never struggled because she couldn’t do the movements—she’s always had the ability. The challenge has been getting her “on side”. Mentally, she just wouldn’t relax enough to let me help her, and that made her physically difficult to ride too.

I’ve lost count of the number of times I thought I wasn’t good enough for her and was ready to throw the towel in.

Looking back now, I can see that the biggest change wasn’t just in Biscuit—it was in me. Working on myself and my mindset has been the most rewarding thing I could have done. I never realised just how much she mirrored my emotions until now. It turns out your mind is incredibly powerful—I’d say far more powerful than strength.

The biggest lesson I’ve learnt is that there isn’t a quick fix. It’s about trusting the process, showing up consistently, and doing the work day after day, even when it feels like nothing is changing. Those small, consistent steps are what eventually lead to the biggest breakthroughs.

I genuinely don’t think we’d have reached this point without the work I do with Silvolutions - Performance, Mindset & Wellbeing. He’s been the biggest turning point for both of us, and I’m so grateful for everything we’ve achieved together so far.

Here’s to trusting the process, staying consistent, and celebrating the little wins along the way. 🥂❤️

Bradwall BE Novice with shy 🦄

A rather late update, but better late than never! 👀

We kicked things off with a successful trip to Alnwick, even if it wasn’t quite Plan A.

🐴 Buddy had an Open Novice run, finishing double clear for 4th place with just a few time faults.

🐴 Shy was originally entered for the 1*, but after a few admin issues had to run in the 100 instead. He produced a lovely, confident double clear, finishing comfortably inside the time.

The following week we headed to Bradwall.

🐴 Buddy stepped up to the Intermediate Novice, picking up one pole in the show jumping before going clear cross country inside the time to finish 2nd.

🐴 Shy ran in the Novice, also just rolling one pole in the show jumping, before jumping clear cross country with a few time faults to finish in the top 10.

I’m so proud of both horses. They gave me an amazing feel across country on what proved to be a fairly testing track. Buddy is feeling ready for the next step up, while Shy is growing in confidence every run. The photos really capture just how much they both love their job. ❤️

A huge thank you, as always, to Samantha Arnold for the endless support.

And thank you to Dengie Horse Feeds - Steph Wright for the feeding advice and helping keep the horses looking and feeling so well! 🙌

Anyone know of someone looking for a happy hacker?
Sadly I need to find a new home for one of ours who hasn’t recovered from and injury as we had hoped. He’s a very kind and loving horse I would love to find him a home where he can just enjoy some hacking and be loved 🥰
He’s 5yo 16.2 green but very genuine
If anyone springs to mind please pm me 🙏
