From 5K… to 10K. 🧡
Over the last few weeks, this brilliant group have taken on our 5K to 10K programme.
For some, 10K was a distance they’d run before but had drifted away from. For others, this was their very first time reaching the milestone.
Week by week they showed up, encouraged one another, trusted the process and proved that consistency really does pay off.
A huge thank you to Christine and our amazing Run Leaders, who supported everyone every step of the way. 😃
This is what Savvy Park Runrz is all about—helping people build confidence, make friends and achieve goals they never thought possible.
🏃 Running the Castleford 10K?
There’s still time to join us. Whether you’re chasing a PB or simply want to get around with confidence, we’ve got runners of all abilities, plenty of experience, and a supportive group who’ll happily chat, encourage and help you along the way.
Come along on a Monday or Wednesday at 6:30pm. You don’t have to do it alone.
Give us a follow, give this post a like, and if you know someone who’s thinking about starting, tag them below.

It’s always great to support Pontefract parkrun and do our bit 🧡
If you’ve never volunteered before, why not give it a go? It’s a brilliant way to meet people, support the event and still feel part of the parkrun morning 😀
This is what being part of Savvy Park Runrz is all about — running, volunteering and supporting our local community together.
Fancy joining us? We meet every Monday and Wednesday at 6.30pm from Castleford Cricket Club, with runners of all abilities welcome. Drop us a message if you fancy coming along 🧡

A great series and even better when you see the support the races give to support a local charity 👏👏👏
We presented the Jane Tomlinson Appeal with a cheque for £6000.
Most of the money is going to help Hannah House in Rothwell who work with children who have complex health needs requiring a significant amount of nursing care. They provide short breaks for families and their children (3 to 18 years of age) with complex health needs which includes both day respite for children aged 3 to 5 and overnight stays for children aged 5+.

So a massive thanks to everybody who took part in running or volunteering, see you next year.
