Terrific weekend for Caterham Dance School students , some of who participated in the first competition of the autumn season.

Firstly, I just want to say how proud I am of those who have competed especially in the complete beginner section and came out with Top final places, you always want to hope that you are improving and all your hard work pays off and proud to say it definitely did today.

And into our adult section who smashed it I know that as competitions get harder and the levels that you dance are more challenging , the improvement you’re making is steady and true and I’m so happy that it paid off for you today.

Thank you to the organiser Karen Day and her team , for all the hard work and organising that you did to make us all feel welcome and comfortable. It was a change of venue and a terrific space to dance.

I can’t wait for the next one back to work for us into our next competition, which is coming up soon 🥰👏👏👏👏

Massive congratulations to all of our pupils who attended the NATD medallist of the year 2026 grand finals in Blackpool.

We are so proud of all of you - each and everyone who works so hard no matter what if you’re just starting out and it was your first year or to those who have been attending for many years , I’m sure we can all say that the hard work is paying off and we’ve come away feeling very good with our accomplishments this year . Looking forward to a new season , and seeing you back in the ballroom. Team CDS 💙🙌

🎬 MUSIC VIDEO AUDITIONS 🎷

We’re looking for 2 female performers aged 20–40 to appear in an exciting music video for a local musician.

Local applicants are preferred.

If you’d like to be considered, please send a brief summary of your dance and/or performing experience, along with any recent photos or showreel (if you have one), to:

Auditions will be held at Caterham Dance School, with the date to be confirmed.

Successful applicants will receive:

* £130 for the music video shoot
* Travel expenses covered
* Food provided on the shoot day
* A paid rehearsal at £50 per person

Applicants must be available on 16th July for the music video shoot.

15 Years of Caterham Dance School ❤️

Fifteen years ago in 2011, we opened Caterham Dance School as a true labour of love, inspired by our own dance careers and a passion for ballroom and Latin dancing.

Since then, we’ve been so fortunate to watch children grow in confidence, take their first steps on the dance floor, and even go on to become champions. We’ve seen adults discover a new passion, and many special friendships formed along the way.

Some have even met their future husband or wife through dancing at our school, later returning with their own children — something we feel incredibly lucky to have witnessed.

Whilst we may only have been a moment in time in many of your lives, you will always be a lifetime of memories in ours. Every single person who has walked through our doors is part of our Caterham Dance School story, and we are so proud of every achievement, big or small.

Our 15th Anniversary Celebration on 27th June was one to remember — despite the heatwave, it was wonderful to share such a special evening with so many of you.

We were also incredibly proud of two beautiful performances: Jack & Siena, who shone with their Latin dancing at just 14, and James & Maisie, who gave their first professional show together.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey over the past 15 years.
