I got back from Spain a few days ago after eating some amazing food with friends and family. There was bread with almost every meal, pastries from the local bakery, ice cream almost every afternoon… and I enjoyed every bit of it.

As I unpacked my suitcase back in England, I found myself thinking about how different things were 7 or 8 years ago.

Back then, I would've spent the flight home planning how to "make up" for everything I'd eaten. I'd have started Monday with a strict meal plan, convinced I needed to get back on track.

This time was different.

I unpacked, went food shopping and got on with my week.

What surprised me most was that I naturally fancied different foods. Not because I was trying to be "good", but because my body had had plenty of bread and rich meals, and it genuinely wanted something else.

That shift didn't come from more willpower.

It came from healing my relationship with food.

I've written a new blog post about what changed, why I no longer feel the need to compensate after a holiday, and how you can begin to let go of that all-or-nothing cycle too.

I'd love to know if any of this resonates with you.

I’ve recently completed a CPD course in GLP-1 nutrition coaching, and I’m looking for two people to test my new Food Freedom on GLP-1 programme.

This is for anyone about to start GLP-1 medication (like Wegovy or Mounjaro), or currently taking it, and wants support with eating, energy, and their relationship with food while appetite is reduced.

Inside the programme, we’ll focus on:

🍽️ Eating in a way that supports energy, nourishment, and muscle preservation
🌿 Supporting digestion and comfort
⚖️ Managing common side effects
🧠 Emotional eating, all-or-nothing thinking, and food noise
🔄 Building habits that still support you if your dose changes or medication stops

The programme runs over 12 weeks with 7 online coaching sessions (30 minutes each), plus worksheets and personalised guidance.

It’s completely free - in exchange, I’ll ask for honest feedback and permission to create an anonymous case study at the end.

Working online, UK-wide.
If you know someone who might be interested, please share this post, I can send them more details 💛

Your Body Is Not the Problem

The other day, I caught my reflection and, for a brief second, the judgment appeared.

It was subtle. Familiar. “You could look better.”“You used to have a flatter tummy…”
You probably know those kinds of sentences.

And in that moment, I realised something.

I wasn’t seeing my body.
I was seeing an interpretation.

In A Course in Miracles, there is a teaching that says we do not see things as they are; we see them as we believe them to be. That idea has stayed with me, especially when it comes to body image.

Because maybe we don’t hate our bodies.
Maybe we hate what we think they mean.

A stomach is not a failure.
Softness is not weakness.
A number on a label is not a measure of love.

And yet we load the body with meaning.

We look in the mirror, and we don’t just see skin or shape. We see stories, comparisons, old comments that never quite left; expectations we absorbed without even realising.

Body judgment rarely starts with the body.

It starts with fear.

Fear of not being chosen.
Fear of being rejected.
Fear of not being enough.

When that fear goes unexamined, it gets projected outward. The body becomes the visible target.

For a long time, I believed healing my body image meant changing how I looked. Or forcing myself to love every part of me. Now I see it differently.

Healing might begin with something quieter.

Not attacking.

Not believing every critical thought.

Noticing the voice without automatically obeying it.

And asking gently:
What am I really afraid of right now?
What meaning have I attached to this part of me?
Who taught me to see myself this way?

The body changes. It always will. If our identity is tied to something that is constantly shifting, we will feel constantly threatened.

Perhaps we are not our shape.
Perhaps our worth does not fluctuate with our weight.
Perhaps the body is not the problem.

Perhaps the interpretation is.

And maybe healing begins in that small space between what we see and what we decide it means.

Not with perfection.
Not with forced positivity.

Just with a little less attack.
And a little more willingness to see things differently.

With love,
Laura 💜

If the holidays bring up a mix of excitement and stress around food… this guide is for you. ✨ This time of year can wake up all the old rules, fear of losing control, and the “I’ll start fresh in January” mindset.

I’ve put together five practical tools to help you ditch the food guilt around the holidays and enjoy with more calm, trust, and kindness

You can read here: https://wix.to/rNLaWln 💜

The holidays can feel messy when it comes to food. Part of you wants to enjoy the mince pies, the Celebrations chocolates, and the long meals. And another part is whispering rules like “be good,” “you’ll regret this later,” “if I eat this, I'd better not have breakfast tomorrow”, or .....

Client wins like this make my whole week 💛

She has spent years battling the pressure to look a certain way and feeling stuck in the binge–restrict cycle. She decided she deserved better. She showed up for herself. And now she’s feeling more confident, calmer around food, and hasn’t binged in a long time.

Healing isn’t a straight line, but every step counts. I’m really proud of her and the courage she’s shown throughout our work together.

If you’re tired of food rules running your life, there is another way. You don’t have to keep fighting with your body.

DM me if you’d like support 🌿

Back in 2019, I shared this image:
“You are what you eat. So don’t be fast, cheap, easy or fake.”

At that moment, I was deep in the world of “clean eating” and paleo. I believed that healthy meant perfect. Every choice had to be controlled. Food needed to be as “pure” as possible. And if it wasn’t? The guilt was real.

When this post popped up on my feed this morning, it felt like opening an old diary. It reminded me of a time when I saw food as a reflection of my worth. I thought I was doing the “right” thing… but I was actually feeding a mindset built on fear and rules.

Things shifted when I realised how much energy I was wasting trying to avoid being “wrong” or “naughty” with food. I was missing dinners out. I was stressed in supermarkets. I was praising discipline instead of listening to my body. All those “healthy” habits? They were shrinking my life.

Today, I see food very differently.
Food is connection. Food is comfort. Food is memories, culture, pleasure.
And health isn’t defined by the perfect diet. It’s built on flexibility, trust, mindfulness, happiness, and how you feel day-to-day.

(And fun fact… when I ate “perfectly,” I was bloated, moody, and low in energy most of the time.)

I’m proud of how far I’ve come. Not because I now include more “fun” foods… but because I treat myself with more kindness.

If I don’t have the time or energy to cook, I throw something easy in the oven.
If my budget is tight, a store-bought soup does the job.
If I’m in a rush and craving fast food, I enjoy it.

I choose what supports me in that moment. I honour hunger instead of battling it. And none of these choices say anything about my value as a person.

OK, THIS IS HUGE!
When this client first came to me, she was stuck in a cycle of weekly binges.
After three sessions together - and a two-week break in between - she sent me this message 😃
Progress like this isn’t about perfection... it’s about learning to pause, understand what’s happening underneath, and respond with care instead of guilt or punishment.

SPOILER: We had our fourth session this morning, and she didn't binge over the weekend either. Woop!

I’m so proud of how far she’s come. 💛

💭 “I’m terrified of coming off Mounjaro and gaining all the weight back.”

That’s what a client told me recently, and my heart broke a little.

The thing is, I’m hearing these kinds of comments more and more often.

Can we just pause for a second and acknowledge how deeply messed up this is?

These medications (any GLP-1 injection), which have been genuinely life-changing for many, were originally created to support people with type 2 diabetes, and later prescribed for weight loss.

Yet the relentless, toxic noise of diet culture has turned them into another stressor.

Another tool that makes people feel like failures if they can’t stay on them forever.

It’s the same old, frustrating story:

A “solution” that doesn’t fix the real issues like our relationship with food, our metabolic health, and our emotional well-being.

And it leaves people feeling helpless, convinced that they’re the problem.

This isn’t about willpower. It’s about biology, psychology, and the constant pressure to be thin, and it’s taking a serious toll on people’s mental health.

When I worked with this person, we focused on one simple but powerful thing: rebuilding trust with their body.

We explored what hunger, fullness, and satisfaction actually feel like again, slowly, and without judgment.

Because no injection or pill can teach you to feel safe around food.

That comes from reconnecting with your body’s own cues and healing your relationship with it.

If you’re scared about what might happen when you stop the injections, please know you’re not alone. There is another way to find peace with food and your body. 💛

✨ New on the blog! ✨

When you think of Intuitive Eating, you might picture its 10 principles or the ''hunger and fullness scale''. But what if we looked at how it can actually support women through every stage of life?

From teenage years shaped by body image pressures, to navigating fertility, pregnancy, menopause, and even later life, I’ve seen again and again how Intuitive Eating helps women feel more at peace with food and their bodies. 💜

In my latest post, I share how Intuitive Eating can support these different chapters, plus some practical tips you can bring into your own life right now.

Every chapter of a woman’s life comes with its own challenges, joys, and transitions. From teenage years shaped by outside pressures, to pregnancy, perimenopause, and beyond, the relationship with food and body can shift in unexpected ways.
