Thankfully we ended last Monday on a positive.

Diogo & Reece Harris Racing made it another MAD DOG front row lockout in qualifying.

Despite some chaos in the race including deliberate contact from a lapped driver on the final lap, they still came home 2nd & 3rd for a double podium, with Reece even leading the race a couple of times despite being a heavy class driver in this unweighted event.

A tough race for the team, after qualifying in 6th we managed to run as high as 4th before some early race penalties put us out of contention, from that point it was just a push to not finish last, in the end we recovered to 12th out of 16 teams despite being 3 laps down from the rest of the pack at one point.

Obviously not the standard that MAD DOG is used to but we will learn from the mistakes at this event to ensure they are not repeated and will aim to be back at the front of the back where we belong at our next race…

Our driver roster for tomorrow’s eighth edition of Daytona Motorsport Sandown Park Battle of the Ages.

Team founder & Sandown legend Reece Harris Racing brings previous Battle of the Ages experience with a 4th place finish at the inaugural edition in 2023 as well as being the current points leader in Sodi Masters League, he will be aiming to go 3 better this time and get a second endurance podium at Sandown within a month.

Zack, MAD DOG’s youngest driver was a crucial part of our Racing Awareness Corporate Cup podium last month, running in the overall lead during his stint, hopefully more of the same this time.

Diogo, another driver who featured in our Corporate Cup team last month will also be looking for yet another trophy to add to his growing collection as he continues to prove himself another valuable addition to MAD DOG Racing.

Late race report from Racing Awareness R1 at Daytona Motorsport Sandown Park at the beginning of the month.

We made a double entry for this event, fielding teams in both cups!

Heading both teams was MAD DOG founder Reece Harris Racing, the 7x Sandown champion was keen to take on the challenge of aiming high in both classes.

Joining him in the Drivers Cup were fellow Sandown experts Steve Hannon & Vivek Bhalla, both also having championship success at the Surrey track.

Our Corporate Cup line-up was completed by MAD DOG’s youngest driver Zack Llewellyn-Morris, also our most successful driver in the Southern Rental Kart Championships along with multiple Sandown podium finisher Diogo Leal and former Sandown regular David Amato, who was also the 2025 SRK Novice Summer Cup Vice-Champion.

Also of significance in this event that was to support ADHD UK is the first 3 mentioned of our 4 Corporate Cup drivers have ADHD themselves, making a strong class result even more important on a personal level.

Our corporate Cup team managed to lead overall with Zack at the wheel, proving yet again why MAD DOG signed him up late last year, all 4 drivers put in strong stints to bring it home 9th overall and 3rd in class, more definitely would’ve been possible if not for some bad luck under a full course yellow, but this only motivates us for next time.

Our Drivers Cup team initially struggled with an off-pace kart but ultimately clawed its way back into the top 6, snatching 5th place on the final lap with a great move by Steve, making it both MAD DOG teams in the top 10 overall.

Special mention to Charles Boniface #14 who was part of our 2nd place at last year’s CRG World Contest for helping with strategy and even dropped by in person during the race.

We’re already looking forward to round 2 at Silverstone Karting.

A few weeks ago, team founder Reece Harris Racing finally received the team owner trophy for the 2025 CRG Factory Rental Kart World Contest in Italy last October, where the team placed 2nd in the Endurance Cup.

As tomorrow’s race is for an ADHD charity, we feel it’s worth mentioning that our Corporate Cup (Amateur Class) team includes 3 drivers who have ADHD themselves, including the team founder.

So this event is extra important for us, we will give everything for the win.

Tomorrow we take on the Racing Awareness for ADHD UK at Daytona Motorsport Sandown Park, the first round of the 2026 Racing Awareness Championship, a series of charity karting events.

Team founder Reece Harris Racing is leading not one but TWO teams, one in the Drivers Cup (Pro Class) & one in the Corporate Cup (Amateur Class)!

He is joined in the Drivers Cup by fellow Sandown regulars Steve Hannon & Vivek Bhalla, with new full time MAD DOG drivers Diogo Leal & David Amato joining for the Corporate Cup along with MAD DOG’s most successful SRK Driver Zack Llewellyn-Morris, who has since stepped up to owner karting in GX-UK, making a one-off appearance for this round.

As 2025 comes to an end, we look back & even though team was only started in June we are already 3x club champions, multiple race winners at regional level & even became vice-world champions in October, only 4 months after the team was founded!

Announcing our newest driver: Charlie McFarlane

The team founder first noticed Charlie when he entered R2 of the MAD DOG Promotion Lydd30 League where he finished a respectable P2, beaten only by an experienced local.

Charlie is determined to level up his career & shares the MAD DOG ethos of pushing yourself to new limits all the time, he is a great addition to the team and we look forward to seeing what he can do on track in his first full season with next year…
