Woody the puppy Miniature Schnauzer came in for his first hair cut in the week, I have to be honest it wasn’t a great haircut and here’s why:
🐾 Even though he had 2 puppy grooms before his haircut he was still anxious and very wriggly on the table. This is totally normal for puppies, it takes time for them to completely get used to the process.
🐾 It takes AGES for a puppy to get used to having scissors around their face and eyes, the face is always the hardest thing to get right on a puppy.
🐾 He was still unsure of the dryer which means I couldn’t dry his coat properly which then means you don’t get a nice finish on their coat.
BUT this doesn’t really matter to me, what matters is that he wasn’t getting stressed or being pushed to his limits just to achieve a good haircut, the good haircut comes later when they are comfortable with the dryer, clippers, scissors etc.
Woody is adorable and I know in time he will settle and be absolutely fine but it takes patience and time 🥰
