RHP Chelmsford Bowls Club

To coincide with the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games, RHP(Chelmsford) Bowls Club are pleased to announce their Open Day on Saturday 8th August at 2pm. With only 10 sports at the Games, and bowls being one of them, this gives you an opportunity to try and emulate the player you see on television. So please come along on the 8th, just bring some flat soled shoes and we will guarantee you a friendly welcome.

The big game today, wasn't the World Cup Final, but the RHP Chelmsford Bowls Club Annual Open Triples competition. Twelve clubs across Essex and Suffolk entered and after a great day's bowls the winners were Burnham Hillside (by one shot), with Felixstowe second and South Woodham Ferrers third. Our Club Chairman, John Abrey had great pleasure in presenting the team from Burnham Hillside with their prize.

Lawn bowls, the game of village fêtes, retirement afternoons and cream trousers, is back.

A very successful Come & Try Day at RHP (Chelmsford) Bowls Club, lots of potential new members and all finished with a cup of tea and some delicious homemade cakes.

The Monday/Tuesday Afternoon internal league started on Monday, this is from Tuesday, sunny but a keen wind.

The weather was kind on Saturday as we enjoyed our first outdoor match of the season, a friendly against Chelmsford Bowls Club. The result was a 99-75 win for RHP, but more importantly everyone enjoyed themselves and blew a few cobwebs away.
