Winners of Summer League 2026!

Our Chelmsford Hockey Club Ladies 1 XI ended summer league by winning the trophy! They compete in a London league, held at Lee Valley and Old Loughts pitch which has kept their eye in the game and ready to smash the new season.

Some exciting signings this season and determined to go out heading back to National League.

Seve, Alys, Neal, Becca and Vas put in a good shift at the Masters for o40, o45 and o55 and while the World Cup is going on for teams before that age, also across the Netherlands and Belgium, the Masters World Cup for o55 and above continues!

I won’t attempt to list them all here but do take a look through. These players form a large part of the Evergreens squad with some in the Vets if they’re a bit too young for Evergreens.

The list includes our President and probably some well known names, even if some of the may seem like they could be the dad of a player in your team (they are!). The list includes former and current coaches, former and current club committee members and a few we can’t let go of! A couple of others who do feed into our Evergreens, we have left for their new clubs to announce. Which means, across East Area Hockey League region, there’s a lot of representation in Masters Hockey.

We meant business when we recruited Jason to the position of Chelmsford Hockey Club Men’s 1s coach. Even though he’s an existing player, all our coaches at Chelmsford are qualified, and Jason is no exception. He is GB lead coach qualified, a Director of Sport and qualified internationally. The coaching team he has built around him are also qualified to a high level, and even though they’ve been playing hockey for years, and one representing England, they’re still continuing their profession with additional qualifications. Even the M1 captain, Hugh, is currently studying for his GB Advanced Coach Programme. Our Chelmsford Hockey Club Ladies 1 XI coach? Also GB ACP qualified.

So if you’re looking for a new National League club where the club management takes the quality of hockey and coaching seriously, you’ve found us.

If you’re looking for a club where the coach knows what it takes to play National League, because they’ve done it too, you’ve found us.

If you’re looking for a team where the coach has high expectations, drive and commitment but as teacher, also knows how to be supportive and motivating, well then you’ve found us.

And you want a team and a club where the hockey is serious, but the team are fun and are great mates and the club has its own facilities and clubhouse for socials, you’ve found us for that too.

It’s not too late to come and give us a try if you’ve got National League experience or you’ve been playing at the top of a regional level prem and have the capability of National League in the London conference - the same standard as some of the Div leagues.

Our Men’s 1s are recruiting for players with National League experience to join a side that is ambitious and going out into the new season with determination.

We are a club with a long history of National League and higher and our women are also pushing back this season.

Club Critical Role Recruitment

As our Chairman shared in his introduction message on Pitchero, the club has critical gaps in roles. Without these being filled, the future of the club may look different.

Nearly all these roles can be split, a volunteering job share, if you like! They are brilliant for CV development and allow you bring to the club or develop new skills. Plus with all of these roles, you will be making a significant difference to the club.

New Chairman Announcement

As we thank James Stock for his many years of service to the club, we welcome Carl Wright to the position of Chairman. Some of you will know Carl (or Wrighty) as Men’s 2s coach, junior coach or Chair of Development. A few words from Wrighty can be found on Pitchero.
